On display at the Toledo NNL and available soon from Missing Link is a 78 Ford LTD which will be available in the next month or so packaged two ways, as either a civilain LTD or with some Police specific parts. Here's some preview photos of the body.

Steve, I cannot tell you how many of these sedans I worked on back in Ft Worth as they were a popular choice for a couple of guys who had several of them a taxi cabs leased back to Yellow Cab in Ft Worth . Most of not all had the 351-400 M engines and C-6 automatics in them . I recall having to replace quite a few Catylic converters in them as people would inadvertently put leaded gasoline in them and poision the converter as a result . Ed Shaver

I want one! My dad had one in 1:1 I wanna build one for him. Does it come with a chassis? Is this made from the same mold as the AAM version?

It's based off the old AAM kit but it has been updated I'm told. If I heard correctly it will be available as a full detail kit, chassis engine and all.

Hopefully someone from Missing Link will jump in here and provide all the details soon. They're probably still up at Toledo today for the Toyshow.

I had sent one to Randy at Perry's resin a long time ago. I was beginning to think I would never see it again as I have been wanting to do a THP version for quite some time. Glad it is coming out.

Steve,

Any word yet on what the 'police specific parts' will be?

Thanks!

Around 30-45 days for the police parts...they have not made it to production yet

Is the one Missing Link is doing based on the one you sent Randy?

Regardless, this will make a lot of police car and mainstreamer fans happy.

I'm pretty sure the guy that owns the 78 LTD that's in the Cleveland Police Museum supplied the original AAM kit to Missing Link, or something like that. Missing Links version isn't an exact copy of the AAM pieces, they did make some changes and or corrections I was told.

The front photo doesn't show a whole lot. Remember this is just a preview. I'll post photos of the full kit as soon as I get it.

If you guys want other versions someone will have to step up and create the master for Missing Link.

I think you all should consider a Country squire for a runer up car . I bet they would sell well . Ed Shaver

I know I would order two Squires, since I had a '77 (red pic) and now I have a well kept '78 in green. I LOVE my Country Squire wagons, its like driving your living room couch.

I've been hearing about this for months...I can't wait. A detailed Brougham with skirts and that thick vinyl top with the vinyl-top-covered valance panel.

I'm thinking triple dark blue....

And yes, I'd buy a Country Squire/Sedan if made available, too.

I'm with you Charlie, if someone made a '75 to '78 Country Squire, I would at least order four. Heck, I have already had two of the 1:1 and I am still looking for another.
