Old yellowed decals?

Recommended Posts

Use tape to put your decalsheet to window where sun will shine straightly! After 19 days your decals are like new! When you take them away from window your must use Microsol Decalfilm to protect them. After that just use them B)

Here you can see results! Pics are in Finnish Car Modeler Forum: http://www.fcma.fi/FCMABBS/viewtopic.php?t=4771

Happy modelling with old models ;)

You`re welcome Brad. Decal setter will help you too, but that decalfilm is important! You can find it any good hobbyshops. Check that link to bare-metals site, there you will findout what kind stuff i mean. ;)

There was note that sunlight harm decals but when you use that decalfilm it will help. Just try.

Say what? Windows translater? Didn't know of such a thing, or are you pullin my leg? Maybe it's the heat that got to you. It's about 94 over on this side.

no i am not pulling you leg! LOL, but yeah, i just right click the page, and that menu pops up, its below copy and paste and its right above the create short cuts! or at least i have it. its a windows live translater thats has either been on my laptop since i got it, or it gave it to me when i got my windows live messenger. and yes the heat got to me big time, not a cloud in the sky, and the humidity is very high! LOL!

-3 Celcius works to 26.6 Fahrenheit. That's cold!! We've been around 93-94 Fahrenheit the last few days. But that's why I left Chicago for central Florida. Got tired of the cold and white stuff falling from the sky.

Janne - I just looked up Finland. You're almost to the North Pole. Holy cow!!

It's a little after 6:00pm here - time to start making dinner. I'll be on the computer in the morning. Have a good one.

You said a bad word! That cold, white stuff that falls from the sky. I haven't seen it or said that word in 9 years.

Jim here in Whitby on a fairly normal day in the winter (end of october) it can go down to 32 fahrenheit and on a fairly cold day it can go down to -13 fahrenheit.

One thing you may want to keep in mind as you tape those valuable decals to the window glass...

Condensation!

Condensation on the window glass can destroy your decals! I have never tried the window sunlight trick before, but maybe sealing them in a plastic "Zip-Loc" bag may protect them?

Sounds right about the Ziploc.

Did some research on Kemi. Are you going to go to the ice castle? A 20.75% tax sounds very high. Does a city of 22,000 have a hobby shop or do you mail order everything? I'm amazed that you're halfway around the world and we share a hobby. This is very cool.

Nick -50C is -58F!! No wonder everything was closed. Somebody would have to be really dumb to go out in that temp. It would be only seconds for bare skin to freeze.

Ive been visited in ice castle couple times, it pretty cool thing. We dont have any hobby shops in Kemi, but Foodmarkets like Prisma will sell model kits. There is not much were to choice  But eBay will always help and online hobbyshops worldwide. We have some good hobbyshops in Finland but they are pretty expensive and they not sale any great aftermarket goodies  Also in UK are one great hobbyshop what i use.

It is really cool to share hobby in here, and here i find best knowledge for US made cars if i got something to ask ;)
