wheels and tires.

they came molded orange not chrome plated... so i had to use BMF to make the outer edges chrome and I painted the centers black.

WoW! beein ORANGE din't change that kit one bit! Your doin a GREAT job on it! LOVE the color, an the idea for the wheels is GREAT!!!! This'll be a KILLER when your done!!! ;);)

You did great work bro, I will be following this one closely! The idea of the rims not being chrome is actually a good one, at least for me. I would much rather Alclad the rims than use BMF but again, that's me, you made it look very good. That color is also gorgeous, nice choice!!! B)

Man that is just one beautiful color. It just looks period correct. Great job on the wheels. It looks like all of your polishing paid off. I love the Tamiya compounds, they work great. Oh yeah your engine is fantastic. Great job so far. Please keep us posted.

That is looking great and the color does look period correct. Can you PM me a few tips on using the Tamiya compound. I bought a tube of the FINISH compound a while back but haven't tried it as of yet because, without instructions, I don't want to mess up a good paint job. It looks like you have it down and could lead me in the right direction. Thanks.

its easy to use, I like to wet sand everything with 2000 grit, wipe it dry as you go and just sand until its perfectly even. then just rub the polish on until you hear it squeak lol. i use scratch X as a final polish also.

Wow, what's not to like on this car. Your wheel treatment, engine detail, paint. Every aspect of this build is looking top notch. I'll never forget a similar 70's root beer colored Z-28 I had to paint match in my younger days. That color is a real bear. Your paint is a good rendition of the one I remember.

Hope the interior is on the way. Can't wait.

This is truly beautiful...

I'm totally stealing the color and wheel ideas for the one I just bought.

Your work is so clean and realistic.

BMF work is top notch.

Root Beer brown with envy... LOL

Killer Camaro!!! And who said that these kits molded in colored styrene can't be built by pros?

Is that metallic brown a factory color? I'm curious what paint you used.

its GM dark brown. in the duplicolor spray cans. not sure if was around in 1970 but fits the era i think.

This is going to be one cool build. I love Camaros and am stunned by the detail so far. The color looks great, too. When I saw the bits of interior my jaw just dropped.
