The title pretty much says it. Those old fuel connectors are what I'm specifically looking to do.

The brass paint I have, Model Masters and Floquil, to be exact, have large "chunks" and this is mot pretty. Other brass paints I've used are the same and very unwelcome.

I need some brass paint that is smooth and even shiny to some extent.

Let the games begin! ;)

I have used plain Testors gold for small details. I haven't tried it but maybe mix gold with a hint of black? or maybe dark brown?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Curtis and Mike, especially for recommending Metalizer Brass. I had just become aware they make a Brass paint and Mike's photo really shows this looks like just what I'm after ... the color and smoothness look perfect.

Ismael .. interesting take with using a dark color. I've mixed silver and gold, but never occurred to me of using something dark. Now I'm wondering what that might do to metalizer.. I don't even know what solvent base that is.

I'm not sure I've tried regular old Testors Brass, Harry ... guess I figured Model Master would be their better Brass paint, but I'm really disappointed in it.

Mike..I find that mixing metalizers can be a lot of fun. As they are lacquers they mix well and if not over thinned spray fantastic!

I find that a couple of drops of magnesium, or alum plate work well...just play around!

On this one it was the blower that was a brass mix..I did the carbs with the interior color for contrast

Defiantly some nice looking metal there. I love Metalizer paint .. goes on so smooth and looks very realistic. Unfortunately, none of the hobby shops I visit carried the brass or this would have been a moot question.

But, I'm glad it got asked!
