RTK434 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 I finally got brave enough to post some pics. This is my first completed build since I was 14. I got back into the hobby a few years ago but a busy work schedule and a few moves kept me from building. It didn't stop me from buying though LOL. Here's my 1972 Chevy fleetside pick up. Built pretty much box stock besides the wheels and tires and a few little items. Sorry for the poor pictures. I'm home sick today and low on energy. I'm a little rusty so take it easy on me.
randx0 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 great job it looks great and now you got that monkey off your back so what's next?I like the color and the wheels .

roadhawg Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Rusty? Man, thats beautiful! I'm about to start on that kit....gonna make a short bed out of it. I hope mine turns out HALF as nice as yours!!! And I hope you feel better soon!
Janne Herajärvi Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Very nice! That kit should have better chassis and separate lights in grille, but it looks nice in that way too.
ale8oneboy Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I agree on the chassis. Cutting it down to a short wheel base isn't much fun on these. One of these days I'm gonna pick that project back up.
RTK434 Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Thanks for the compliments everyone. I needed some inspiration. I have a couple started projects that I hope to finish up soon. Look for some pics soon.
MyBradKeselowski Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Fantastic!!!! Great looking Chevy PU. I really like the color, those wheels look great they really set it off..
voljeepx Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Jeff, you've got nothing to be sorry about, this is one great truck! Color is great and the wheels look right at home on this old Chevy! Good job!
gilsdropshop1 Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 my favorite body style of the trucks great work and love the two tone and wheels and welcome back keep em coming.
Guest Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Well, if that's you work being "rusty", you are a force to be reckoned with when byuilding at your best! Very very nice!
Tedly Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Lookin good Jeff. nice to finally see your work, keep building!
george 53 Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Jeff, my brother in law had one in that same color combo. It was a REAL popular one for that year! his had white steel wheels with dogdish hubcaps. And just like Roge said, when he sold it, it sold on the first day!
Tony T Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Very nicely done! I like the colour combo. I understand how life gets in the way of building. Keep at it even if you only have a few minutes here and there.
Daniel Lynch Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Very nice Chevy truck! Sweet nice built, cleany job! Didn't wait another 15 years to built the next one! Daniel
JayC Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 That is one cool Chevy truck! I really like the color choice.
Nate Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 For a better chassis option check out the Revell 64 and 65 Chevy pickups. The suspensions are very similar and the wheel base is pretty close for a short bed. I am using for this project and plan to use it on a couple of others. You'll have to make some modifications to the body and bed to get them right, though.
cruz Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Very cool man, my advice to you, stay away another 15 years!!!
RTK434 Posted November 17, 2009 Author Posted November 17, 2009 Very cool man, my advice to you, stay away another 15 years!!! I've been pretty busy building the last few days. I might even finish another one before the end of the year. I hope I don't burn myself out!
Jeepster25 Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 (edited) That's a great looking truck! Those wheels look cool with it. Edited November 18, 2009 by Jeepster25
crazyjim Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Looking very good. Love the colors and wheels.
Nate Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 My apologies, i forgot to mention that the truck looks great! I think you nailed the stance.
