Why not just get the Vette kit? It's fairly common and fairly cheap, plus you get a Corvette kit in the process?

Barring that, you can just put an ad in the wanted section to see if someone has an extra set.

Fair questions. Here's why:

1) When I decide to build a '57 Vette, It'll be the Monogram kit, not this one. I have no interest in the MPC kit; other than the wheels, there's not much else I'd want from it. The kit may be common, but hobby shops will still have it priced @ $15.00 & above. Ebay sales will typically tack on $8.00 - $10.00 shipping to whatever the price of the kit is.

2) I have an on-going issue with a fellow "trader" on this very Board who agreed to a deal I posted, PM'd me with his ship-to address, but has yet to respond to any of my PMs since then. My package has arrived at his end. Don't know if or when I'll receive mine.

That's not a blanket incrimination of all traders on the Board, I'm just looking to do a direct purchase of these wheels without paying for a whole kit, paying shipping costs that are higher than the price of the wheels or getting stuck in another trader's quagmire.

See why I just want to buy 'em?

From what I've seen resin wheels and aftermarket wheels sell for 10-50 dollars. If I could get a kit along with a set of wheels I wanted for 20$ that would definitely be the route I took.Good luck.

Allow me to quote myself: 5-spoke versions of these: http://www.driftproject.com/media/fun/et_wheels4.jpg

Take it down a notch; although wrong, I'm sure he was trying to help.

I know of the wheels you need, made in the mid 80's by ET; I seem to recall they were referred to as the 'Kelstar.' I had a set on an MPC '84 Mustang back then, but I'm not sure if I still have them.

I understand your reluctance to purchase a whole kit for the wheels, but there may come a time when you will do just that to get what you need.....I got 2 of the "Hogan's Heroes" WWII Jeep kits for just the steering wheels....you can use the remains of the kit as trade fodder right here on the board.

Hopefully you and your trading partner get it all worked out. I've had nothing but excellent dealings with many folks here.

I have no doubt that he was trying to help. I was just trying to direct the focus back to the actual wheels I was looking for.

That's the name! I'm still astounded that I couldn't come up with a Google image of the 1:1 5-spokes.

Very possible. In the meantime I'm going to see what the resin casters have to offer.

Hopefully you and your trading partner get it all worked out. I've had nothing but excellent dealings with many folks here.

Thanks! I'm sure 99.9% of the people on here are honest and reliable. No one wants to be thought of as "that guy".

I have 2 of these wheels, very wide, for slicks. I also have a similar wheel with 6 spokes. PM me if you're interested.
