SteveG Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 (edited) Well, It's finally finished. I thought this project would have gone much faster considering it's a curbside kit but I kept finding more to do with it. If you haven't seen the Movie in a while, this is the one that is used in the first half, not the one that get wrecked at the end. That was a Blue Custom 500. FYI, I'm not color blind, the Movie car is really Green with a Blue interior, I'm guessing it was a factory freak that Ford was happy to provide. Either that or the studio repainted it as the bad cop's car was painted Blue. Either way I figured if "Dirty Harry" didn't have a problem with why should I? A good man always knows his limitations... right ! To see the complete build up just follow the link below.Magnum Force 72 Ford build up Thanks for looking !!! -Steve Edited May 17, 2014 by SteveG
Nick Winter Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Steve, as I mentioned in your WIP I'm doing the car Harry drove in first movie, allthough I've had to settle with using the Hobby Heaven kit which is a '70 not '68, anyway looks great, I watch the first two movies last night on TV
Wayne Buck Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 That is a weird color combo. I used to have an 88 turbocoupe that was red with blue interior. I always thought that was a little strange. Anyways, VERY nice work! The car turned out great!!
tuffone20 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 That Ford came out looking very nice and now I might have to put that movie in the DVD and watch it! Great job.
oldscool Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 That looks great! Perfect paint and trim work. oldscool
SteveG Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 Steve, as I mentioned in your WIP I'm doing the car Harry drove in first movie, allthough I've had to settle with using the Hobby Heaven kit which is a '70 not '68, anyway looks great, I watch the first two movies last night on TV Nick, I'll be watching for your progress on it. In the December issue there is an article with photos of '68 Ford LTD sedan. Maybe you can post a question in the "Ask Model Cars" section and get more details on how it was done. That one would make for a great "Dirty Harry" Ford Sedan. -Steve
Foxer Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Nice to see a plain Jane ..but built SO clean it just pops!
FordWagonNut Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I LOVE it! Clean and crisp, done just right.
disabled modeler Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Very Nice! Its great to see something different in factory stock or pretty much stock
charlie8575 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Looks great! That green says 1970s so nicely. Charlie Larkin
rustybill1960 Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 It is a very "sharp" build indeed! Yes, I noticed the "green/blue wonder why" as well? I just watched all three movies last week! Great movies, Great Actor! Thanks for sharing! Later Russ
Badluck 13 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Very beautiful build!!!!!,as far as the colors,Ford did have the standard police package "blue" interior with green, white, black, red and blue body colors....again an awesome build!!!!!!!
Tumbler75 Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 This car looks awesome!! And here I thought GM was the only ones who mismatched colours interior/exterior wise. I had a 1982 Chevy Celebrity that was Tan w/ Blue interior and a 1985 Euro that was Black w/ Blue Interior. Keep up the great work!
Porscheman Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Beautiful build!!! Reminds me of the TV show the Streets of San Francisco.
ChrisBcritter Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 Very very clean build - and not only is the license number correct, but the font is more accurate than what they used in the movie! (from imcdb.org)
