juergen Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 hi guys !!! after long time away in the forum i can post you my first beach dio i made. it takes long time to find the right way to do the water and now i think its ok to show you the finish. the palm is also handmade about paper and the trunk is selfmade about cabels and putty. i hope you like it: greets from austria juergen
disabled modeler Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 That is just too cool!!! How did you do the water and the beach? Really nice job on it!
crazyjim Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 The whole dio looks great - but especially the water! You did good.
gbdolfans Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 WOW!!! Great job on the dio.The whole thing is very well planed. It shows a nice scene that could happen anywhere.Well, maybe not Alaska!! The beach and water looks great. How about telling us with pics how you did the water!!! You could do a tutorial on here on this. The truck is great also!!!!Love the color. OH by the way the girl is very nice, also.Where did you find her??? All in all, first class!!!!
george 53 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 ANOTHER GREAT JOB, Juerg, It came out JUST RIGHT!!! I like the clarity of the watter, and how you got the waves down!!! i also like the tiretracks in the sand! that ride wasn't AIRFLIFTED there, it DROVE there! Looks GREAT!
Foxer Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 This is probably the best water's edge I've ever seen! Even the wet sand where the wave has recessed.. FANTASTIC work!
juergen Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Hi Guys !!! Many thanks to your so kind comments and i am happy that you like the little dio. So i can tell you a little about the produce - not much fotos but i hope you know what i´m mean. First I took a Styrofoam plate and cut them in order. And I also cut into the same water course. After that was done, I sealed all the columns with 5 minutes epoxy resin so that the liquid can not leak much resin. Then came the sand on the complete plate. the color was to dark so i brushed it with my airgun. Then I mixed the resin, it's where I was a little blue color, and brought it up carefully on to the top of the frame. Immediately afterwards I took the whole plate a slight angle so that the resin could run a bit forward and then also put the wet is outside the water. After a drying time of one week and then I began to shape the waves. It just another 5 minutes epoxy was applied to the water surface and during curing with the back of a spoon raised. The wave just came on the beach only while the epoxy was given a little more time to harden before I began to shape the wave. after that drybrushed with white color and that's it. I hope the approach is understandable and even my English?? * Gggg * many greets from austria juergen
