lanesteele240 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 this was my first model in a long time. i was building it while i worked on my model room. i call it my warm up kit. it is a fujimia Veilslide S14 (Spelling) kit. it is basically a copy of my first nissan 240sx. i used scale motorsports carbon fiber for the hood and sprayed the headlight buckets chrome silver with a spot of light blue to make it look like hiper white light bulbs. this kit was trash. nothing fit and the windows did not come with a mask and they did not have etching where the black window trim should be. i did not paint it in because i thought i would make matters worse if i tried. i did use a set of skyline r32 wheels for a deep and wide look on the rear and set the bottom of the kit above where it should have fit to lower the front of the car. i think it came out good considering it was constructed on my wife's kitchen table and the first car in like 6 years. thaks for looking
randx0 Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Very nice, especially for just starting to get your feet wet (again). What's next?
whale392 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Lucky enough to own a real S14 huh? Must be nice, especially if it looked like the model.
jedimastergary Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Looks good the color is nice some good details on it to like the exhaust color makes it look as if the car has been used
RodneyBad Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 it looks painted. Did you polish the orange Plastic? Looks great for a quicky too. Great looking 240 nice job.
whale392 Posted April 9, 2010 Posted April 9, 2010 Well Dave, I am in the process of 'collecting' the Fujimi Initial D series myself; primarily the AE86s and Itsukis' (Iggy) AE85. So far, the kits are nice and come with some extra parts options that I will be transferring and adapting to my Aoshima AE86s.
lanesteele240 Posted April 10, 2010 Author Posted April 10, 2010 i painted the car orange with testers and cleared it.
