Custom Hearse Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 I stopped at Hobby Lobby today and found a 1/16th scale 1955 Mercedes 300 SL "Gullwing" coupe from Minicraft. I was looking through the clearance shelves and found it with the price tag of $11.39. The hood, doors and trunk all open on it. I'll post some pics soon.
Custom Hearse Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Here's the pixs of the kit: Let me know what you think....
Custom Hearse Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 I was going online to get info on the 1:1 car, and found that people on evilbay were selling it for $39.00! I almost didn't buy it because I've got a whole lot projects I'm already working on. I've got the engine built and painted, and the body is in primer. I'll post some more pics of it later. Until then, later!

camaroman Posted April 28, 2006 Posted April 28, 2006 Marshall, Thanks for the pics of the kit. My Local HL has this kit on clearance. I think I'll buy it after being able to peek in the box.
Custom Hearse Posted April 28, 2006 Author Posted April 28, 2006 Happy to do it Camaroman. I picked this one up at Hobby Lobby on clearance. Be careful when you cut the parts off the trees, they are VERRRYYY fragile.
bigphoto Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Are you gonna build a racer or stock? As I have some pics of a vintage racer from Michigan you could borrow. Note they are action shots.
Custom Hearse Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 I was actually thinking of making it a street rod, but if I wouldn't mind seeing the pics of the race version. If you can post them, go ahead and post them here. Thanks, Marshall.
Custom Hearse Posted May 30, 2006 Author Posted May 30, 2006 Here's the engine.... It was a little tricky to build. It looks pretty busy.... Alot of parts to put together. Needs a little more detailing to it, but it came out great. And yes, I know the engine isn't supposed to be red, but I felt like painting it red!
