Kodiak Island Modeler Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 in 1963 or 64, the local Chevy dealer gave me a couple of small metal semi-trucks for Christmas. I think that they were probably in the 1/64 scale area. One was a cabover without a sleeper and a van trailer, and the other was a conventional. I would like to find these again, if possible. Does anybody have any idea what these could have bee., or what I could be looking for?
chuckyr Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Whoa, 1963 or 64! Vehicle subjects and especially truck models of that era are increasingly becoming expensive and rare. To be accurate with an answer to your request you would have to post a photo of the subject in question. I would look toward a Chevy collector or an antquic toy dealer.
Ben Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 It sounds like what you had were Winross models. Winross was one of the pioneers in 1/64 truck and were around for a very long time. Back then that day cab, cabover was probably a White 3000. An easy way to know if you have an older Winross truck is that they had no interior or "glass" in the cabs. The van trailers were diecast with thin syeel sheet for the sides. You can still them on Ebay.
