Foxer Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I just came upon this magazine which many here probably know about, but thought it deserves a heads up for it's great photo content covering the '50 and '60 and earlier. They have access the the vast Peterson archives and print many never before printed photos. Shots of old dragsters, rods and customs abound. I like their format and serves as a good reference for those into traditional builds. that's, Hot Rod Deluxe Magazine. It's a bi-monthly and only available at new stands though it looks like they may be starting to offer subscriptions.
High octane Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Mike, I have been getting Hot Rod Deluxe for some time now and you're right, it does have excellent photos of rods, customs, dragsters, and gassers from "back in the day" and can provide great ideas and reference material for a large number of model car builds.
voljeepx Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 It is a great magazine! The vintage car show pics are the best! I also read that they are trying to go subscription based, but it would be like $49.00 for a year to keep the content up and the advertising low. A small price to pay for all that inspiration! I really like Rod and Kulture as well. It is a bi-monthly and has alot of great pictures and articles.
Chuck Most Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I've got every issue of HRD except the very first one- and every so often, they even cover a few models!

I just dropped my subscription and now buy it on the newstand for $1 more. Go figure???
