Anyone make a 60 Chevy Sedan delivery

Recommended Posts

The Flintstone body 'sorta' has a chopped top....it's designed to use the R/M 60 Impala glass and I believe the '1/1' sedan delivery had a taller windshield Art Anderson would know,I think. F&F used to cast one based on the old AMT 60 Elky, but I don't know if its available anymore. Although the Fintstone's roof is low,and the 'B' posts are slanted, and it wears the Impala trim and tail lights,it would be a good place to start.............the'Z'man

There is an old Monogram kit called "Quicksilver" that was based on a rodded '60 S.D. Take a lot to make it stock and the Jimmy Flintsone body is probably based on it anyway. But between that old kit and the Revell '60 stock H.T. you might have something! ;)

Ron, I just checked overt the Modelhaus site, an sorry, my bad, i WAS wrong! He doesn't make one. But i do have the Jimmy Flintstone body, and it is a nice enough casting to start off on. If you can catch him at a show, he sells just the body for only 10 bucks! Ya can't beat his price!laugh.gifbiggrin.gifwink.gif

Thanks Fellas. I will have to think about this one for a while before I decide which direction to take with this project. It would be nice if Modelhaus did make one. I have his 55, 56, 57, and 59 Chevy Sedan Delivery kits and they are excellant. I thought about ordering an extra 59 kit from him and combining it with Revells 60 hardtop. That may be the best direction to take.

It would be a little pricey to do, but what about combining the Modelhaus '59 SD roof with the Bandit Resin 1960 El Camino?

It may be more economical to use the Modelhaus '59 sedan delivery and a '60 El Camino annual off Ebay. Some of theose don't sell for a lot of money - especially if they are incomplete. You may also be able to do something with the Modelhause '59 delivery and the Quicksilver kits. Those things are everywhere on Ebay and again, some go pretty cheap. I know the Modelhause '59 is pretty nice as I have one. Just two other options.. Actually, I may scoop one of those myself and compare it to my '59 to see what would be involved in replacing the roof. I have a real 1:1 '60 sedan delivery here if you need any photos or information. Don't hesitate to ask. Hmmm.. I wonder why no one is casting a stock bodied '60???? *hint hint, nudge nudge* :):):)
