moparmadman829 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I built this while back after finding one ebay I just felt the need to try and build my own so I took a stab at it and feel it came out pretty nice.got few other things I have built from scratch that will be posting in days to come..hope you enjoy..
Tradeshowjoe Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Bro! That didn't come out "pretty nice" It is Really nice! What scale is it? Paint color is perfect. Again, real nice work.
moparmadman829 Posted August 1, 2010 Author Posted August 1, 2010 is 1/24 th scale and thank you very much..
Foxer Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 That is very good looking, The metal textured are believable. Ever noticed the curly plastic that comes off a draw of a panel scriber or backwards knife blade through plastic sheet? Seems it could make some nice metal scraps around this.
moparmadman829 Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 had thought something like that I some little files and stuff to add to it yet as well
george 53 Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 For a minute there i THOUGHT it was REAL! Then i RE read the thread and realised you BUILT the lathe!!! THAT is TOO COOL!!! If you could have it cast, I'm SURE it would have ALOT of buyers! I know I'd like one! BEAUTIFUL job. Whooda thunk of buildin a scale lathe? GREAT job!
moparmadman829 Posted August 2, 2010 Author Posted August 2, 2010 I do have another in the works for mold making purposes already have both 3 and 4 jaw chucks cast..
mannyclub Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Awesome lathe! That would be cool if you cast it too. you dont see to many older style lathe's available. I know a couple anyway but yours has more detail and looks 100% better in my opinion. Adding some aluminum shavings etc would give it that much more detail i agree! Manny
moparmadman829 Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 this is the lathe I found on ebay that inspired me to make mine.
