white00gt Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Hi, have a kinda dumb question I have never dealt with anything other than 1:24-1:25 scale so I was wondering what would the biggest scale of wheels that can fit on a 1:24-1:25 scale vehicle : I am Asking because I saw a very detailed set of wheels (actually quite a few) for 1:18th vehicles but I don't know if they would work on....... thanks
ismaelg Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I'm not sure I understand your question, but if you want to know what size it would be in another scale, just multiply the actual diameter by 24 or 25 whatever the scale you want. A 18" wheel in 1/18 is a 25 inch rim in 1/25 Thanks,

I think the wheel I looked at is an 18 in. wheel ( in 1:18th scale of course) So if I understand you right then the wheel would be waaaay to big for a 1:25 scale car because bigest I would go would be a 23" like Mr. Model wheels or pegasus wheels(not into the ridiculusly big wheels) This the set of wheels I wanted but doesnt say what diameter they are http://gmpdiecast.com/products/zoom.cfm?Pr...Number=G1800136
ismaelg Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Something else you need to consider is the lug nut size and pattern. A 1/18 wheel may look out of scale in a 1/25 car because the lug nuts would be too far apart, and the lug nuts themselves would be quite big. Thanks,
Steve H. Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I used Hoppin Hydros 1/18th scale wheels and tires on this, but lowrider wheels are, like, 12" wheels... the GMP set you posted are really nice looking, but would probably be too big to be realistic (Ismael makes a very good point also!)
Guest zebm1 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 About tha only 1/25th scale models those GMP wheels would look "in scale" on would be a Semi Truck. and even tha GMP tires would be smaller in height than tha tires that come in tha semi kits. Zeb
