TheCat Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Here's Christine in all her fame and glory. Just don't get her angry. Film FACTS: Although advertised as a Fury, Christine retained more features common to that of a '58 Belvedere than anything else. Exterior-wise, Christine didn't bare the trademark '58 Fury Buckskin Beige paint nor the gold anodized aluminum side trim and grille. So, I built this kit by using the AMT 58 Belvedere and colored it exactly to the films car. This was a interesting kit to build. Once she was built, strange things started to happen.
MyBradKeselowski Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 She looks great and full of color ! ! ! I can hear her singing KEEP A KNOCKING BUT YOU CAN'T COME IN, so I think I will just stay my distance... LOL
Railfreak78 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Nice job! I have her on my list to do in my stash too! One of my favorite movies of all time and you did her great!
davyou5 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Wow !! that thing is Amazing, though I have never seen the film.
TheCat Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 Sweet! What clear did you use? I used Testor's Ultra Clear Gloss. It gives the best gloss without the need to polish.
codie27 Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Great job. I can picture Arnie behind the wheel and Richie Valens singin Come on lets go blastin outta the radio!!!
Merkur XR4Ti Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Sweet ride! How did you color the huge side moldings? They look like Metalizer Aluminum.
Agent G Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I like it, nice clean build Felix! BTW where'd ya get the StLouis backdrop? I'm originally from the 'Lou. G
Peter Lombardo Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 That is really nice...very clean build. I have that kit....one of these days I may get to it, but in the mean time I'll just look at yours....very nice, you know, that move sure had a huge influence on that kit, I'll bet that 95% of all builds of that car are red. I promise, if and when I do mine, it will not be red.
TheCat Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 Sweet ride! How did you color the huge side moldings? They look like Metalizer Aluminum. Hi Steve - I actually used Bare Metal. And did each panel individually. Then I painted the centers of each panel with flat Aluminum to make it look like the real car.
TheCat Posted October 18, 2010 Author Posted October 18, 2010 I like it, nice clean build Felix! BTW where'd ya get the StLouis backdrop? I'm originally from the 'Lou. G I found it online.

David G. Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Very nice, excellent looking build. This is one of the ones that I want to build too! I don't have a kit for it yet, but I'm always on the lookout.
MoparManiac318 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Amazing build!! It must have taken you a lot of time to detail to match the film car I absolutely LOVE this car and the film!! I recently found this kit and am just waiting to receive it and start building it!
Dominik Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Wow! This kit is so hard to find here - and you built a awsome Christine! Very, very, very clean. You can be proud of this peace of Moviehistory, that you built. Looks absolutly great! If you have no space at home for "her", you can send it to me. Love it!
Jon Cole Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 B-b-bad to the bone! Great job! That nose shot looks like it is from the movie.
deathskull59 Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 cool plymouth cristine is the best out of all the pyhco killing films ive seen. heck that 58 also sounds like its souped up too. i wounder if they used a 57 chevy as cristine instead of a plymouth fury.
Janne Herajärvi Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Yeah, very cool. One of my fav movie cars
jeff ewaskey Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 B-b-bad to the bone! Great job! That nose shot looks like it is from the movie.
jeff ewaskey Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Lol!!! I had the same thought about the front pic. Beautiful job on the Plymouth. Looks awesome. The 68 Charger that Arnies buddy drove in the film was pretty sweet as well.
TheCat Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Thank you everyone for the great comments!!! This was a fun build and filled with lots of love. And Thank you for compliments on the front shot I took of the model... I was also amazed at how good the picture came out. LOL
Drake69 Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 (edited) One of my all-time favorites. Beautiful work. Some cool info:Year: 1958 (most of the in-shot cars used were '58s...)Make: PLYMOUTHModel: FURYStock: 12116Engine Size: DUAL QUAD V-8Transmission: AUTOMATICExterior Color: BLOOD REDInterior Color: WHITE / RED (some interiors were also white/black and red/black) The custom color that was used in the films was actually called "Blood Red". From what I researched on this matter, Carpenter wanted a rich dark red that would be as "workable" with the camera by day as well as night, so they came up with this color. Although several Furies were used and subsequently sacrificed for the movie, most of the cars were actually Belvederes and Savoys modified into Fury-lookalikes. Where did you get that awesome deep red color from? I have to build this beast when I get my workshop put back together. Edited September 2, 2011 by Drake69
