4DCustoms Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 I have been searching on here to figure out what parts of the micro mesh everyone is using. it looks as if you guys are using 3500-12000 grit pads/cloths, but which kit do I get? I have searched on amazon and found alot of products and wanted to see which ones you guys are using. Here is the link. First one includes the pads with the foam http://www.amazon.com/Micro-Mesh-Model-Polishing-Kit/dp/B000X4J4G4/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1288908252&sr=8-2 This kit includes just the cloths http://www.amazon.com/Rockler-Micro-Mesh-12-000/dp/B001F7LVNC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1288908252&sr=8-6 Or do I just get both? Thank you for the help.
niteowl7710 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 This is the one I have...actually I have two of them as I thought I had lost the original one when everything went into storage. http://www.micromark.com/MICRO-MESH-FINISHING-KIT,7601.html
Ddms Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 2000-grit sandpaper and Coarse, Fine and Finish Tamiya polishing compounds.
Pete J. Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 One question. Why would you buy them from secondary sources when you can buy them directly from the manufacture? Here is the web site for the company that makes the stuff. http://micro-surface.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=272_4_75_81
george 53 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Get two polishing kits. One for LIGHT colors an one for DARK colors. You'll be glad you did. B)
MikeMc Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Rockler woodworkers supply also sells the pads
cruz Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 It's good to have the one with the foam block specially when sanding flat areas like roofs and stuff. You still have to make sure that you get your foundation straight, in other words, use the foam block on your plastic first and then your primer, it will definitely be easier at the end to get the results you want.

CAL Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I like the pads and use them most often but sometimes you just need a sheet.
