AZ Boy Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 And the parade of my 'older' builds rolls on.... I completed this in '04 or '05. Eugene White body, but a stretched Boss Hoss Mustang chassis. I wished I had some under body reference pics for this one before I tackled it, but to this day can't find any. Oh well, just another one of the 'local' racers I saw frequently at Smokin' US 30 Dragstrip. Hope you like. Aaron
Hondo Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 "Sunday, Sunday, Sunday..........." RIP, Jan Gabriel. "Super" build, Aaron. I saw this car a lot in the early IHRA '70s days. Yes, for some reason, photos of this car were fairly rare. It's on my "to do list." Nice work as always from you !
W-409 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Great work, as always! Like it very much, that paintjob is very good and engine detailing looks very nice too. Good job with it, Challenger is very nice car and FC cars are nice... You did exellent job, thank you for sharing.
brett Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Great work Aaron, never seen a pic of this one before (real car).

DRG Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Sometimes I look at a build that a person has posted and I am at a loss for words. WOW!
KevinJarvis Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 One of my favorite cars. Thanks for the build, It sure brings back a lot of memories.
AZ Boy Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Thanks for the kind words guys. Brett, here's a few pics of the car I was trying to replicate. Although Mr. Norms cars were based out of Chicago, they toured nationally more than some of the other locals I used to see like the Creasy family and Gary Bolger's Golddigger. Being that US 30 was a regular stop for the Coca Cola Cavalcade tour meant that I got to see a LOT of touring pros. In it's heyday, that was THE midwest track to race at. Probably more so than Rockford, Great Lakes, etc IMHO. John, just let me know when, and I'll be glad to email you the pics I have. Aaron
caine440 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Outstanding! I love seeing the older funny cars and this one is really great. You did it justice! Thanks for posting!
baddgass Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Very nice, clean ... excellent build, Aaron! 2X
