Thar Ranger Technologies kit is not a typical plastic or resin kit. It requires some more advanced skills than just putting molded parts together.  The resin parts are not Modelhaus quality. They are made in open molds.  I bought mine about a year ago, and my kit had some inferior parts.  But Tim was very helpful and took care of all the problems. He even ended up redesigning some parts (like wheels and tires) to make them better.  I did have to wait for the replacement part for about a year, but I finally have them. As an added bonus, Tim also added bunch of parts to the kit and he upgraded mine too.  I was in no rush, so I didn't mind the wait. Hopefully the kits sold now contain all the modifications and additions.

As mentioned, the kit needs a donor truck: Dodge Li'l Red Wagon.

As I mentioned, Tim is a super-nice guy and very easy to deal with.  I would recommend this kit to anybody with intermediate or advanced skills.  No, I haven't yet build mine. I based my evaluation upon examining all the kit's parts and assembly instructions.

The Ranger kit looks good, assembled anyway.  I have been collecting parts to build my own replica Squad 51.  I currently have the utility box and odds and ends to make a fairly accurate replica.  I'm using the MPC 78 Dodge pickup for my base and have a 72 grille for it.  The only parts I am still missing are the rails for the utility bed and the brackets for the side view mirrors (I have the mirror part).  I can make both using Evergreen products but I was wondering if anyone sold those pieces ready made.  The railing on the Ranger model are spot on, but I didn't see them listed on the Ranger website.  Also, for those who have completed a replica, any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!
