tktom24 Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I have 2 touch-n-flow applicators that are both plugged. Does anyone have any creative ways to unplug these things. I have tried submerging them in plastic solvent. That did not work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom
Guest Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I use my wife's throw away diabetic syringes. Best touch and flow I've ever used. If it gets clogged, just put the plunger back in and squirt some out in the bottle. You just have to keep the plunger from coming in contact with the Tenax. Is there any way you could put a wire inside the needle to clean it out?

EH225M Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 If the tube of glue has a plastic nozzle, then wire may be the way to go. Maybe if you can heat the wire before it goes into the nozzle?, just to help it along the way....? It's not as if I'd suggest such a dangerous thing to do, only while there's plenty of snow around... If that doesn't work, you could always buy another tube???, and store it upright with the nozzle pointing up.
tktom24 Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Lacquer thinner? I will try that. I have some in the shop.
MrObsessive Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 A well stocked hobby (or train) shop should carry .010 brass rod. This is nearly hairlike in diameter and is what I use to unplug my Touch 'n' Flow. It's made by K&S and comes in packs of 10 IIRC. Hope this helps--------------having a plugged applicator can be a very frustrating thing!
