cruz Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Just painted this one HOK Candy Tangerine, once I put it in the dehydratoe for 24 hours it will be ready to wet-sand and polish.......
cruz Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 Fixed the indentation problem on the rims and painted them Magnesium with a touch of pencil lead, sometimes those "buffing" metalizers don't give me the sheen I want........
cruz Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 As you can see, I just rubbed my finger on the scribed lead and just hit the whole rim like if I was polishing it, I just think it gives it a more realistic metal sheen........
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Oooh!!! I like it!!! What is your base coat under that Kandy Tangerine? Looks like it has lots of flake.
cruz Posted March 13, 2007 Author Posted March 13, 2007 Oooh!!! I like it!!! What is your base coat under that Kandy Tangerine? Looks like it has lots of flake. The undercoat is silver from the 3 step system........
Gray Smith Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 lovin the color man, makes me glad to know i've got some of this tucked away in my paint stocks, and great tip on the metalizer, wonder if it works with other colors/different wight pencil leads.... lets see some more progress! Gray
white00gt Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007  I REALLY Like it!!!!!!!!! Great Job not to crazy about the 1:1 but hey may grow on me like the model has
Mike Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I really like the color and the graphite rims. The car really stands out!
robertw Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Nice color. I did one in a similar color, duplicolor Orange Mist with a beige interior. I think it looks a lot better in metallic orange then it did in the concept car silver. rob w
Modellpularn Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 How cool! I like the paint job, does look like flake. The metalizer makes the wheels look so much more realistic. I've got me one of these, but haven't decided how to build it. But the wheels will probably get the metalizer treatment....
Lyle Willits Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I bet you ate white paste when you were a kid. Now go wash your hands, young man! Cool color.
Matt T. Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Beautiful paint! Good tip on the magnesium too. Thanks.
cruz Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 This thing is wet-sanded and polished already.......
cruz Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 Amazing what a polishing kit can accomplish.......
cruz Posted March 15, 2007 Author Posted March 15, 2007 Finished buffing the Camaro, hopefully I can start on the rest of it soon and have it done in about a month or so.......
cruz Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 A bit more progress on the new Camaro, I love the way the lights sit in the back with the chrome accents around them....................
Jared Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 love the way your going with this one. the color was a good choice alone with the dark wheels!
