stump Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) look forward to seeing you. i'll be the slightly more than middle age guy with the 1/8 scale drag cars and the 2 foot pony tail. LOL! Man, that cracked me up reading you and Daniel comparing notes there.....I only wish I had enough hair to grow a 2inch pony tail. Outstanding work on the nos fittings and wheels btw Dave. Excellent stuff indeed. Edited August 21, 2011 by stump
Dragracer Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I think you went with the right choice Dave, the aluminum ones look a little better.
Interceptor Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 (edited) How can one NOT enjoy this build ? Incredible building skills and such an eye for detail. I really take my hat off to this. Interceptor a.k.a. Mark Edited August 21, 2011 by Interceptor

Maindrian Pace Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Dave, I'm a Ford guy. I've rarely built anything else in the past. This is my favorite car on the site. -Mike
eviltwincustoms Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Did you by chance make these American Pro series double beadlock wheels? I am trying to find someone that can machine me a set of rear wheels in 1/16" as well. i just finished the front wheels for my buddy that's building a 1/16 41 willys pro mod. i thought i'd show them to you. these are 15x4 gibson spindle mount front wheels. they complete the set which started with 16x16 american pro series double beadlock trakstars. hope you enjoy
baddgass Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 There no words to discribe your workmen ship. But i'm so glad for the pics. Thanks Dave.
eviltwincustoms Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 bart, i sure did machine those wheels. those are all machined old school. no c.n.c. equipment. i wish i could sell you a set but, i can't. micro nitro has quite a following here on mcm. you might want to give him a shout. Thanks Dave, I have seen his work and his site, but haven't figured out how to get in touch with him. Does someone have an email address or his ID to PM him? I would give anything to see your project up close and personal, I could admire it and ask questions for hours!
Mooneyzs Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Thanks Dave, I have seen his work and his site, but haven't figured out how to get in touch with him. Does someone have an email address or his ID to PM him? I would give anything to see your project up close and personal, I could admire it and ask questions for hours! Bart... Jim's email for Micro Nitro is hoosierminiatures@gmail.com He does some great work and you will be happy with his products. He will also take good care if you.
futurattraction Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I'll second what Chris just said. I'm working with Jim to develop a set of 1/25th scale old-school "crowned" Cragar SuperTrick (front and rear) masters and 14x32 slick. He's been great to work with.
Randy D Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Hi Dave, At last I figured out how to get to your photobucket page! (O'kay, I'm a little slow on this computer thingy!) Really appreciate all the fine photos you post. Using your work as reference on my next project. Looking forward to more from you, Randy
Randy D Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Hi Dave, Enjoyed this alot!!! Will come back often for reference. Congratulations and look forward to your next project. Randy
Prostreet Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 WOW, This is definatly the most bad a$$ model i have ever seen. Did you start it up yet? lol.
tyrone Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Dave I've enjoyed watching this MASTERPIECE come together, your building skiils make me want to push to be better, this is the closest thing to perfect that I've seen.....
Dragracer Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 One of the BEST builds I've witnessed, it really looks real!, It turned out beautiful Dave.
eviltwincustoms Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I have to say that this build is outstanding! I keep looking at it all the time. Dave, can you tell me what size NOS bottles do most ADRL Xtreme Pro Mods run? Are they running twin 10, 15 or 20lb bottles?
streetisneat Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Dave, it has all been said. Very nice car.
stump Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Woohoo ! Finally.....now, back to the bench. What's next. ?? Dave, absolutely spectacular, and a true joy to have been witness to the best scratch building this century. I'm gonna have to buy that air ticket now......I NEED to see this thing close up. Great work my friend.
LAone Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 excellent, just excellent. my hats off to you.
bsoder Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Well impressive doesn't come close!..sounds like you enjoyed the build and I know I enjoyed droolin over the pics!
W-409 Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 This is incredible!!! I've enjoyed following this one, and now at the end of this project, I can say that it's truly amazing. There are no any mistakes, and everything is done very nicely. It's just so realistic, that I can't say anything else, very nice job with it, and THANKS for sharing!
Wayne Buck Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Dave, I don't think I left even one comment throughout this whole build as I watched it progress... Reason being, I was left TOTALLY SPEECHLESS every time you posted an update! This is an absolute MASTERPIECE! Seriously, I cannot find a single word in the English language to describe how completely incredible this car is! I've always loved the 3rd gen Camaros and Firebirds, drag racing and absolutely LOVE the 10.5 tire cars. That class has gotten so wild & dangerous lately that it has quickly become my favorite to watch. Cars slammed to the ground with "steamroller" tires will always have a special place in my heart, but the Outlaw 10.5" cars = PURE AWESOMENESS!!!!!! Thank you sooooo much for sharing your build with us! I'm sure I'll be coming back to this for years to come whenever I feel the urge to salivate uncontrollably. Can't wait to see what's going up on your bench next!! Edited September 7, 2011 by NJ-Wayne
