Thanks! It's a 462 big block B)

It is not going to be an easy task. It will be my first time working with resin. My '66 Nova pro street will be here today, I am using the tires and rear end.

Thanks!

Alright, I finally took some pics!

(Please excuse the mess and the bad lighting)

I made a cowl hood, too. His car doesn't have an outlaw hood, some I'm gonna remake it.

There are several resin suppliers that make cowl hoods for the AMT '70 Camaro. You might look for the Revell big block '69 Camaro, Max Rat Chevelle or the old AMT Street Machine '68 El Camino for the engine. What transmission is in his car? Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland makes a great TH 400 with a seperate pan. there are many companies making the Weld Wheels in resin...Or you can find them in the Reher Morrison/STP Pontiac/Frank Iaconio Monogram Pro Stocks. Do you have any engine pictures of the car? RaMCoM also has a very nice single plane big block intake manifold. Pro Tech has the nicest resin "Demon" carb. Let me know if I can help in any way. Shoot me a PM, if you need to.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

I don't want to shell out big bucks for something that I can make on my own ;)

His car has a Powerglide, although I found a leftover Ford C4 tranny that looks pretty close.........

I don't have any engine pics, as he doesn't take the hood off very often.

Is the rear end shortened and tubbed? It's hard to tell from the side picture.

BTW, your uncle's Camaro is a beautiful car. I'm partial to Camaro's.

Competition resins has a Powerglide for $4.50. The C-4 has a square pan. The PG pan has a notch at the rear. I guess it's all in how exact you want to get.

Here's the link for Comp Resins PG...My link

@Crowe-T: It is shortened and tubbed. I got the rear end out of the '66 Nova Pro Street. Thank you for the last part! ;)

@Camarobuilder: Hey, it's the underside, who's gonna notice? :D I HAVE seen that hood. It seems to be a little short though. As a matter of fact, I've been waiting for them to release the outlaw cowl hood for it, but I made my own. I'm also getting the front end coversion kit, Weld Wheels, D80 spoiler, racing seats, BB headers, and Optima batteries from them. :)

Resin cowl hood for $5.99 or best offer on "evil bay"...

If you scroll down in the listing, they have an outlaw hood.

Thanks, but I'm trying to get it the exact height. I think the only way to accomplish this is too scratchbuild one.

I REALLY need to keep up on updating my topics...

Anyhow, some progress pictures:

I got the paint stripped off of the engine and cut the manual tranny off:

I did a test paint on a plastic spoon:

And last but not least, I made a wheel tub(I'm NOT using this one, it's just for mock up)

Thanks for looking!!

Nope, I haven't really touched this. I've been trying to work on my Dart. I'm also the SLOWEST builder know to man so......

HA!, the "SLOWEST builder known to man",think I may have you beat!, haven't gotten around to doing anything on my P/X build since the 5th of this month, keep saying I'm going to do some work on it, then don't,I also keep saying I need to do some work no matter how little on it everyday, but don't, planning on doing some work on it as soon as I get off the computer, but then the NHRA P/M racing (from Atlanta, last week) is coming on at 3:30, followed by the Summernationals at 4:00, still, hope to get something done today, if I'm lucky (of which I'm not!). Your Uncle's Camaro looks real nice & I think your build will do it justice!
