John Goschke Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks for the comments, guys, they're much appreciated!
Casey Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 That is fantastic paint work, John. With all of that body sculpting from the factory, the wild paint looks right at home, and the colors work great together.
58 Impala Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Very nice job, I think it's well worth the effort.
promo55 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 That is a good looking T-Bird! You did an excellent rebuilding job on that kit. The modifications are tastful and does not lose the character of the base car like many customization projects do. I do not think I could spend that many hours taping a model car off, you are very patient. A '58 T-Bird promo was my second model, if the tool still exists, I wish Round 2 would reissue it as a snap kit! Great job!
Alyn Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 No lack of skills here. Beautiful paint work, and a great way to overcome the pin striping limitations. The gold is a perfect addition.
JustBill Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Your paint work is absolutely beautiful. Truly inspiring. The color combo you have chosen is very soft and calming. You should be proud!
John Goschke Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Finally got the interior done on the “Pennsylvania Bluebird!” Also shot the clear coat but it stilled needs to be polished out. Just to give you a taste of the finish here's a couple cropped shots of it mocked up with bumpers and chassis.
Harold Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Really great work. I had the Custom Rodder with Watson's original car on the cover. You've really nailed it.
John Goschke Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Thanks, guys! Looking forward to finishing this one real soon, just hope I don't screw it up somehow!
weasel Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 that IS nicely done...a fan of Watson paint jobs here to!!
chopper430 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 HEY JOHN , I USE 0.5 MM TAPE FROM JAMMYDOG AT SCALEFINISHES BTW THAT FINISH IS AWSOME!
peekay Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I agree with everybody - beautiful, precise masking/painting, and the subtle alterations you started with were really worth the effort.
vwrabbit Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 That is a lovely piece of work! Kudos for your patience and skill in painting that! Tim
