mackinac359
#3 for 2011. I started this one in mid-summer last year in my painting blitz. Krylon School Bus Yellow is the main color. The real truck is a 2006 Peterbilt 378 built in the old Madison, Tennessee plant. The truck was photographed by a truck-fan out west. The unique combination of yellow and black with some polished items yet black battery box and painted wheels with polished wheels on the lift axle made this truck unique and interesting - in other words, a prime candidate to build a model of. The Inspiration I started with the old version of the Italeri 378, swapped in a sleeper from the 377 and cut it down to 36" and made the roof from the flattop Revell of Germany sleeper. I stretched the frame and scratchbuilt the lift axle. Resin front wheels from AITM, rears and lift axle from Kit Form Services. I still have to install the roof mounted amber beacons, CB antennas and touch up the yellow on some of the huck rivets where I polished through the paint. More pics are on my site at TimsTrucks.com Thanks for looking! Tim
