oldscool
Slowly making more progress here. I got the intake set up finished and am waiting to paint the Speed City resin valve covers before I install it : The valve covers are beautiful by the way and I highly recommend them. A tip o' the hat to Scott at Speed City. Also got some detail on the dash and roll bar: The steering wheel came from an AMT 57 Ford kit and can any one guess what kit the awesome carbs came from? I also have the rest of the interior done and now just need to paint the body. Keep a modelin' boys' grumpy gus
oldscool
Finally got some painting weather today. Paint is Tamiya pearl white with Testors flat black on the hood. The pearl effect doesn't show very well in the pic but it looks great in person. Keep in mind that I am using the kit decals which I think will look pretty good with this color. Also painted the valve covers and bumper with Tamiya aluminum. Should be finished soon now that it is finally painted. grumpy gus
oldscool
Couple of more pics. Interior finished: And a quick mock up: The front will sit a little lower when the body is glued on. grumpy gus
Randy D
Wonderful paint work!! The motor looks terrific so far. That roll bar turned out great. Randy
oldscool
Thanks for the comments crazyjim and Randy. This one has progressed soooo slowly but it's finally getting there. grumpy gus
oldscool
Got the window trim painted now . Uh, I've done better . I used plain old Testors silver in the little bottle. Decided to do the drip rail trim just because I like the way it looks. grumpy gus Edited March 9, 2011 by GrumpyGus
oldscool
I put these pics in a different thread earlier today but I thought they should be in the right thread. I tried to use the red panel decals from the kit but they don't fit right so I improvised. Don't laugh too hard. Now it's ready for clear coat but I may strip it and go with a Petty blue color before it's all said and done. grumpy gus Edited March 13, 2011 by GrumpyGus

stewart
Nice dart. I like the detail. Where did you get the Mickey Thompson valve covers? STewart
oldscool
Slowly plugging away at this one. It's now foiled, clear coated and hood and grille are detailed. Had to strip and redo the clear on the rear panel between the tail lights. As soon as it gets dry I can install it and glue body and chassis together. It's getting there. gus
oldscool
Almost finished now. It just needs some underhood details added. Big engine - little car: Fiberglass bumper: Next pics will be in Underglass and judging from the lack of response everyone will be glad to quit seeing it . gus
bigmikevee
Hey Gus, I think it looks great, love the look of a big engine in a small car, and going with the white paint was a cool idea. It really pops the hood and the decals, and I think you have got one fine car there sir!! Thanks for posting for us. Mike
