Ben Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 (edited) Anyone done research lately on who has the cheapest price on current truck kits like the AMT Kenworth cabover and the Bill Signs Pete? Hobbylinc has the Kenworth for 26.99 and the Bill Signs for 93.00. Anyone seen a better price than that? Edited February 9, 2011 by Ben
Mr mopar Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Hey Ben Dennis at model express has bill signs for $79.97 Kenworth cabover for $29.97.
stewart Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I know the prices are kind of steep doubleD but don't miss out. RoG and Italeri have the best truck kits out there. If you really want to do a nice truck, go with one of their kits. STewart

STewart whoa there hemi lover !!!! the only short leg up that rog and italeri might have on amt/ertl is they have models of more modern trucks but as far as detail strait out of the box amt/ertl has them whooped all over the yard . if you ask me them rog and italeri kits are only good for two things = rim and tire doaners !! FORD = still american family owned motor company and been stomping dodges since the day HENRY FORD helped the dodge brothers open thier first plant !!! p.s. just a lil frindly teasing stewert !! dennis

It is sad that they haven't made any modern trucks. That would be great. Just to return a little GOOD for EVIL I think ford has some really great products out there and I have to hand it to them for weathering this economy and not taking a bailout. So I will be a team player (unlike some others ) and say go Ford - and try to catch that hemi STewart. Edited February 10, 2011 by stewart

TUCHE maybe if we all started emailing round2 like i do once a month about the pete 352's lol they might actually make some newer trucks. lol
stewart Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I don't know. I tried that with Revell and Round2 about pickups. I got "signatures" of 100 people on the Scale Auto forum and added them to an email to these two about making some new pickup truck kits. I don't know that it really did any good. Might do more good if a bunch of us sent individual emails. I would love to see newer truck kits that were $40-$50 instead of $80-$100. STewart

STewart yeah i think a rally of indevidual emails would have bettr luck, but i think it will take a constant verouge. weakly monthy etc to strike their attention. lol or they could just be content and making plenty of money just doing all these old kits.
cowboysevens Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I sent them an email about pickups a few weeks ago. Preferably 3 quarter ton or above is what I prefer. But im hoping that they would keep it at a re-issue price. Id rather not pay more for a pickup than a semi since the amount of parts in the pickups are significantly lower. But thats just me. They replied saying that it would be forwarded to someone higher up in the chain but I don't know whether to believe that or not. lol hey just atleast they told you they would send it up, all i get is we have no plans on releasing that model. lol dennis
Sergey Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Could you tell me, guys: whom should I ask about plans to reissue Model King's kits? I'm searching for '79 Ford PickUp 4x4, but it's rare and no one willing to ship it outside USA.
