Hey Guys

I got to sit at the bench a bit today and started on the cab for the 63 inch day cab I am going to cast if it turns out worthy of it.

Got the cab cut up and taped back together so far and I think it is going to work out and it even came out right on the 63 inch mark so I guess I got lucky

Found at least four arrangements for the rear window and was unable to figure out which one to go with so I think I am going to go with the easiest one of all, no back window, that was an option on the cab. I guess the builder can cut in which ever he wants. They had a large single window in the middle, small window on each side or the large center window with the small side windows.

I am also reworking a set of the headlight panels to use the single round headlights, I like the way they look.

Well here is the work so far, as always any and all input is welcome, Thanks for looking !!!

Well, I am getting closer on the cab. It still needs just a bit of work in a few spots but it is looking better.

Looking real good so far. Love the single headlights, i'm doing one of these as well at the moment. Over here they're designated the K120 W/T, just a very basic version of the K123 with max' HP at about 270.

That looks really nice, Eric. I think you're a little bit further along on yours than I am on mine.

That is looking good. Just two questions; why the single headlight arrangement? Are you going to offer the cab without the headlight buckets for the twin headlight configuration and include them for the single headlight configuration?

Hey Bradley

Well I guess the best answer to the single head light thing is that I really like the looks of the older trucks with them. Although you could still spec the trucks with the single head lights up into the 70's. I am going to try to keep the cost of this resin cab pretty low so it will only be the cab, cast without the head light panels so the builder can use the head light panels out of the kit with the dual round head lights. I will offer the single round head light panels with the bezels and clear lens as an add on for the resin cab if the builder wants to go with them or as a conversion / option for the model kit.

Hey Porky, got the fenders today. Supper job you did. No runs no drips spot on.

Hey Clayton

Thanks for letting me know and Thank Again for letting me cast your fenders !!!

Thanks for answering those questions Eric. I thought it would make better sense to cast the fenders/headlight bezels separately, and am glad the option will exist. Also, for guys who want to convert the regular cab back to the earlier single-light version, having those separately available will make life a lot easier!

On a side note, I was talking to my dad (who drove one of these in 1976-77) and he said his truck had the high mounted door handles like the kit depicts. He did, however, mention that the slightly later version of his truck had the low-door slam-style latches. How hard do you think it would be to convert the doors to the later type?

Not terribly difficult at all. Auslowe offers the P/E set from their K104 transkit for $4. It has the Kenworth logos & the correct door latches.

I got a set of the Auslowe P/E slamlocks for an SAR and the K-120 W/T i'm doing and they're spot on. Also comes with a pair of the foot step alloy treads as well as the badges.

They're not listed on the site as a seperate piece. They're actually part of the K104 Trans Kit. Email Nigel (use the Contact Us Page), and ask him.
