noname Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Just wondering if anybody knows if any Opel Blitz trucks found their way to North America after the war? If so maybe some may have been used as woods trucks etc.? Thanks
ra7c7er Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 I don't know if any made it back a working trucks but I have been to several museums with them on display. The museum at Fort Knox has one.
noname Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Yes Robert it seems that there are a few scattered around in museums and whatnot but it doesn't seem any were actually used as work trucks from what I can see. More of a novelty.thanks
Jim B Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 They were probably brought back to Canada & the US as war prizes.
Guest Johnny Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 There was one in Missouri back in the early 60's. My grandpas brother rented a house on an old farmstead and there was one in the barn. Someone had started and never finished an engine conversion to a Dodge engine / trans. It was hanging in place and the new mounts were made of oak! (actually the engine was sitting on oak blocks on the frame)
