I've tried and tried to make throttle linkage. I have pins, small wire, a bunch of Plastrut, but still can't get it. Any and all help would really be appreciated - especially if there's pics! Thanks.

Jim, I'm sure you can do better than I do. It doesn't have ta be perfect, just resemble a linkage,

Making realistic throttle linkage is very fiddly stuff - patience and good reference photos are your true friends. I'd recommend ordering a couple of photoetch kits (Model Car Garage and Detail Master both make good ones) and you'll want to flatten out a beer or soda can to use for making bracketry. You'll need files, sandpaper and a selection of tiny drills to work with these materials.

Thanks for the reply, Mark. I would never have thought about beer/pop cans as a source. I have all the other items you mentioned. I need to keep trying.

Thank you for the replies. Those engine pics are unreal! I printed everything posted so far in an attempt to create linkage.

im right there with you bro. it's tedious for sure! i tried and failed at making one for my beetle with dual down drafts. the hardest part for me was gluing PE with the needle and then the needle to the plastic. patience is def required.

this thread is very helpful. im going to give it another shot.

I'm a big believer in making do with whatcha got-----as well as adding with some PE if needed.

Here's a few of mine...............

The Ferrari engine (from Norm Veber) on top came with parts to build the linkage, but I remember adding some of my own as well.

Also, getting an actual shop manual helps in a lot of cases.............a little "obsessive" for sure, but it helps get the job done. B)
