A BUILDOFF WERE YOU HAVE TO BUILD A RACE CAR AND THE CONTERPART OF THAT RACE CAR.

JUST AS THE EXAMPLES ABOVE. IT WILL BE VERY INTERESTING TO SEE WHAT YOU CAN COME UP WITH.

NOW LET'S SET SOME RULES.

1. START DATE JUNE 11TH 2011 ( DAY OF THE LE MANS RACE )

2. FINISH DATE NOVEMBER 30TH. (SIX MONTH BUILD)

3. MUST SHOW THE TWO KITS UNBUILT BEFORE YOU START SHOWING PROGRESS. (YOU CAN START DOING THAT RIGHT NOW)

4. NO DUBLICATES, IF YOU SEE THAT A FRIEND ALREADY STARTED BUILDING WHAT YOU WERE PLANNING TO DO, CHANGE THE MODEL,

USE DIFFERENT DECALS, COLORS, ETC...BUT DON'T DO THE SAME, FOR THAT REASOND POST EARLY.

5. CAN DO ANY TYPE OF RACE CAR, BUT....NO FORMULAS OPEN WHEEL CARS OR PROTOTYPE CARS/ C CARS.

6. THE CAR MUST HAVE A ROAD VERSION OF THAT PARTICULAR MODEL. (I WILL APPROVE EACH ENTRE).

7. IF YOU ARE DOING AN ORIGINAL OR FANTASY RACE TEAM..THAT'S IS WELCOME.

8. LET'S KEEP THIS SIMPLE AND FUN, LET'S NOT GET ULTRA TECNICAL

AT THE END OF THE BUILD OFF WE WILL HAVE A POLL OF ALL THE FINISH PROJECTS

TO SEE WHO ARE THE TOP 3.

HOPE WE HAVE A GREAT TURN OUT AND WILL LOVE TO HAVE AN ANNUAL "RACE ON SUNDAY/ SELL ON MONDAY" BUILDOFF

YOUR FRIEND 3MEN2S....

PS. I DID THE BUILDOFF FOR GROUP 5 CARS AND THE LIONS DRAGWAY AND BOTH WERE A SUCCESS, HOPE THIS ONE STICKS.

THANKZ

After checking what I have I came up with this combo.

1981, MUSTANGS.

THE RACE VERSION WAS FORDS COME BACK TO PRO RACING IN THE US IN THE IMSA CIRCUIT.

THEY RACED IN EUROPE WITH THE ZAKSPEED CAPRIS, AND WERE DOMINATING. THE MUSTANG

RACED HARD WITH KLAUS LUDWIG IN THE WHEEL. THE 4 CIL TURBO GAVE THE 935 PORSCHE

A HAND FULL AT THE TRACK.

THE ROAD VERSION WAS ALRIGHT, NOT AS MUCH HP UNTIL THEY BEAFED UP THE 5.0

IN 85.

THE ENGINE ON THE ROAD VERSION CAME IN TWO OPTIONS, 4 CIL TURBO, "PINTO ENGINE"

OR THE V8.....IF I GO WITH THE 4 CILINDER ON THIS BUILD..WILL PUT HEADERS, INTERCOOLER AND A BIGGER TURBO.

I have several CBP's hanging over my head at the moment or I'd commit a pair of Corvairs to this right now - A 1966 Yenko Stinger (I guess it would have to be a different build from the one I'm already building for the Historic Racing CBP, right?) and a restoration of a stock 1966 Corsa buildup. I have a couple of non-Corvair ideas too, but I don't want to mention them on here quite yet because I'm afraid other guys would jump on them before I had the opportunity to commit to them. :D

Well this build off is on its way, hope more friends can start thier

projects.

I started mine, first thing I did, clean the mold lines

and sanded open the louvers for the front fenders.

The kit is old, so the decals are crusial here, but

speedline decals make aftermarket decals for this kit

so no problems here. Will start from the chassie- up.

here is the photo of the race car, tomorow I will post

the road car.

I would like to get involved in this one with a pair of 1969 Firebirds. I just got decals in the mail to build the Royal Bobcat car and could do another to go along with it.
