DiscoSpud Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 My gentle Jesus was this kit frustrating or what? None of the parts fit well AT ALL! But given the fact that it took me 18 months to build I think it turned out well. It's box stock apart from the hand made antenna and weathering. I wanted it to look like the Duke boys had really thrashed it
BOSWELL891 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Very nice it looks like it just ran through a whole bunch of mud. Outstanding detail
DiscoSpud Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Thanks mate. I tried to put a lot of time into this one.
RodneyBad Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Looks Perty Thrashed but if ya gonna make it look like the Duke Boys Thrashed it, ya Gotta bend up the front it and bust a ball joint Nice build and nice weathering..
DiscoSpud Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Thanks for the comments guys! I've been weatherring since I was very young, mostly making model trains look like they'd been through central Australia. My technique is easy to learn. I dry brush, where you dip your brush in paint and cean it until there's only a tiny amount of paint left on there, then go for it.
crowe-t Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) Aaron, Excellent job with the weathering! It really looks like dried mud. What paint/color did you use for the 'orange' body? Edited July 24, 2011 by crowe-t
High octane Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Really nice job on that General and yeah it does look like the Duke Boys have been thrashing it.
Eshaver Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Uh yep, certainly looks realistic enough . Are you plannin a Car wash for it with uh Good lookin Daisy ? Ed Shaver
Harry P. Posted July 24, 2011 Posted July 24, 2011 Uh yep, certainly looks realistic enough . Are you plannin a Car wash for it with uh Good lookin Daisy ? Ed Shaver Hey, now that would be a nice twist on the same old, same old General Lees we see all the time. Do a little diorama scene with a scale figure Daisy washing the car! Come on... one of you DOH fans who have a GL built up... how about it?
