W-409 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 This is my third model for 2011. It's built from Revell's kit, which is pretty good quality. I started the work from the chassis, because there is no engine. Exhaust pipes are painted silver, and then I added some blue and gold to simulate burned exhaust pipes... Axle systems were easy to install, but later I had some problems with them. Front wheels are turning. Interior was simple, seats etc. fit nicely on their places and they are looking good. Body is painted white, and then I added lots of decals. They were very tricky, but after all they came out ok. Installing the body to the frame was hard job. After one try, I broke almost hole interior while trying to get it fit inside the body. Second try went easily. But rear tires were too front, so I did take off all rear suspension and I built it again. Now tires are in good spot. Nothing special of the final assembly, THIS ONE IS A BOXSTOCK. '
RodneyBad Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Great looking Lancia and Great Pics. Very cool looking Car..
W-409 Posted June 15, 2011 Author Posted June 15, 2011 Thank you all for the nice words. This one is in my personal "Top Ten Rally Cars"- list. It was pretty wild machine, of course can't beat Lancia S4, or 037... Thank you for the comments, I hope to have next one finished pretty soon...
CAL Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 best thing to do when build pretty much any Stratos is cut the rear engine cover off then slide the chassis and interior in through the back.

It was the first purpose build rally car 2. Won three championships 3. It was the last rear wheel drive car to win 4. It is Italian, amazing it ever even finished. Although, funny thing about Ferrari in particular, the Factory could alway make there cars work. Privateers not so much. Not bad for most picking through the dumpsters at Fiat (example: headlights are actually from the Fiat X/19 and door handles in such are Fiat) and Ferrari who supplied engines from the defuncted Dinos.
