cazxr2 Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Hi all I have a mini spray gun. Well it's a mini compresser with spray gun. Ive only sprayed 2 models with it. The question I have is where could I find flip paint for it? Links would be great. Please bare in mind I'm a spray gun noob and I'm in uk cheers Craig
Gregg Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Try some of the nail polish colors that are color changing. I'll see if I can get a picture of them
cazxr2 Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 Do u need to thin nail polish down? If so what would I use?
brett Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 lacquer thinner , about 1:1 ratio. depends on how thin the nail polish is to start with
cazxr2 Posted July 9, 2011 Author Posted July 9, 2011 Where do I find that. And is that what it's called in the uk as well. Sorry for all the dumb questions
brett Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 just that Lacquer thinner, any auto parts stores should have it, otherwise see if you can get a bit from a panel beater/paint shop. You need enough to thin your polish AND enough to clean your gun afterwards.
Johnag4004 Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 Hi, Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, is nail polish the same as nail varnish, also, if you use this to paint do you still have to use primer first... Many thanks... Andy...

Hi Geoff, Many thanks for that, may I ask another question please... Does it matter which type of primer you use, will Vallejo Model Air Grey primer be ok or does it have to be a vehicle type of primer... So sorry for the silly questions... Many thanks... Andy...

Ask as many questions as you want, that's the only way we learn .... The only silly questions are the one's you don't ask !! I haven't used any of the Vallejo primers, but while your at Halfords, get yourself a can of Halfords plastic primer, depending on the colour your spraying, it's available in white, grey and red, you can decant it out of the aerosol into your airbrush, which is what I do, if you have an independent auto store look for Hycote paints, there the same thing as the Halfords only cheaper ....
