For 2011, I decided to build ALL the 1969 Camaro model styles that were available. So far I've built 6. I have 5 more to go.

Here's pictures of my collection of 1969 Camaro's that I've built so far:

From back left: 1969 Plain Jane Camaro, Yenko, Z-28 RS, Z-28, SS with DX-1 Stripes, and the 1969 COPO ZL-1 Prototype.

What a cool idea! Each of these builds is worth a long look in its own right, and to have one with an option I'd never heard of (the DX-1 stripes) made it a learning experience as well. More, please.

Thank you all very much for the kind comments.

To answer Ken's questions:

Yup, I'm planning to build the Pace car. This is my 2011 year long project to build all the 69 Camaro model styles.

Here's the list of the other 69 Camaro's that I still have to build:

Pace Car

Regular SS

Regular COPO

D. Harrell COPO

and the Baldwin Motion

As you can see, I have a very busy year of building models. B)

Side NOTE: I'm currently working on the 1964 Chevy Impala SS (between building the Camaros) and I also finished painting the bodies of two 1969 Novas. One is going to be the SS version the other the COPO.

If you really wanted to impress us, you would build one of each color too! B) Just kidding, great looking builds and an impressive list of to be done builds.

Keep them coming!

Sweet! My all-time favorite automobile.

Ambitious project; building one example of each model. Great idea!!! And, you're doing a great job of it so far!!!

Impeccable builds Felix. I agree with gray07, we need a 6 banger in one of them. You would need the hood like your ss with the dx-1 stripes, or a flat hood.

Yup, I'm going to get a resin flat hood to build the V6 version. I'm just waiting for it to arrive. B)

Now, my question to everyone is: Where or what kit out there has a V6 engine that will fit perfectly into the Revell 69 Camaro?

Not a V-6 felix, a straight 6. AMT's 60 Chevy pickup 6 will work, I used it in my 66 Malibu wagon, the Trumpeter 63 Nova 6 will work, , either one will require some research for correct period air cleaners, etc. I believe there are resin 6's out there as well.

Here's a thought..somewhere I have the 6 banger that I am 99% sure came with the AMT '69 Firebird kit and since they're both GM wouldn't it be the same basically ..I would imagine it would take some mods to the mounts in the Camaro . I knew a guy in HS that had a really nice '68 with a 6 in itbiggrin.gif here's the built kit

AH no . The Pontiac 6 was an innotive OHC (Over Head Cam - single) for US Manufactures . The Chevy still plunked along with the new ; for 1929 , Stovebolt . MCW has the 6 cyl. Engine you want in resin . I reccomend his stuff . If you don't have the money for a resin , try The Swap part of this Site ? Thanx ..

Thanks everyone for the great comments and also for the information. I will start looking around for the 6 engine and see what I can get. I may go with the resin engine, or buy the kits mentioned to get the 6 engine.

Again, thank you all!!! B)

By the way, I'm planning to built the COPO Camaro... what color you think would look nice? I have already used the Hugger Orange on the SS DX-1, I was thinking maybe Fathom Green?? Was the COPO available in that color?? Not sure yet.

To answer your question about Fathom Green, Yes it was, It also was one of the color choices for all of the Yenco Cars in 69, The Camaro came in 6 Color choices if it was a Yenco, According to my reference, That is one VERY nice display of Camaros, And the workmanship is top notch. Very impressive! :P Edited by spkgibson
