Scale-Master
This one looked like it needed an early 70’s style paint scheme, so…

ra7c7er
Cool build. How do you keep everything steady enough to get the decals on the wheels? Edited August 3, 2011 by ra7c7er
Scale-Master
It's like applying any decal, just take your time. And sorry Afta, you'll have to get in line for this one should I decide to part with it, someone beat you to it.
Harry P.
What kind of car is that?
Scale-Master
It's a Hot Wheels... Nothing real, but looks like it was inspired by a late 60's & early 70's Mustang and Corvette custom mash up.
Ryan S.
That's pretty cool. Nice theme. You should photograph it on a cracker... Now I'm hungry.

Ben
Beautiful work Mark! I have done the same with a Racing Champions Camaro but it's not as nice as yours! I would like to see you restore an original Redline! You can buy reproduction wheels with fresh chrome spokes so the main thing would be cleaning up the chassis plate and applying a cool paint job. Have you ever put them back into the blister packs?
Chuck Most
Almost kinda/sorta looks like a '70's Aussie muscle car. Very nice build of this one, Mark!
Monty
Ok, I see. I was wondering why I couldn't recognize it! Scared me too. Thought I was gonna have to turn in my man-card. Did'ja see the spare tire?
Harry P.
Almost kinda/sorta looks like a '70's Aussie muscle car. That was what I thought. But I guess not. Whew! I guess I can keep my man card for the time being, huh, Monty?

Thanks guys. I have an original Torero on the bench that will be restored one of these days. A good friend was kind enough to provide a new set of wheels for it. I still need to decide on a color for it... I have returned them to the blisters for friends, but for my personal collection I let roam the range freely. Usually I just redo them as fun filler jobs between "real" model's lulls, like waiting for things to dry...

If you decide to paint that Redline the way they used to be, you can buy the Spectraflame paint they came in as well!
LDO
Cool car. I opened the thread expecting Scott Sullivan's pr/street '55 Chevy. Y'all remember that photo, right?
Dr. Cranky
That car would look great in 1/24th scale.
