iamsuperdan
Sold the F150 Lariat PowerBoost. Was made an offer I couldn't refuse. Picked up a '22 F150 Lariat with the EcoBoost engine. Nicely spec'd out. 502A equipment group, FX4 package, Sport Appearance. And being a 22, still has heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, and factory nav. Can't get those for '23. Added a hard folding tonneau cover, Duratrac tires, dashcam, and full 3M front end stoneguard. Had some choice for colour, figured I'd go subtle this time. ?

Back when I was in the business this was referred to as "Resale Red". Seems bright colored cars do sell better than drab colors.

I've always liked red, but just never bought one for whatever reason. Closest I got was one of the special edition Ram 1500 Sports in Ignition Orange back in 2015. This was available, so I figured now was as good a time as any.
keyser
I’m really tired of greys, blacks, matte paint. I can’t have red as I drive fast, but I’m ordering paint to sample wagon in something interesting.

W-409
Since 1:1 cars take the biggest amount of my free time, here are the cars I'm driving... Some of you might have seen some of these cars during the years but I'm guessing no-one remembers them anyway ! My daily driver is this '64 Rambler American. All original, sold new here in Finland. I have driven around 33 000 miles with it now during the last two years and it works fine! Has original Rambler 196 OHV six cylinder and three on the tree. Gets a pretty good mileage but is a lot cooler than any new car. Then in the summertime I drive pretty often with the '60 Chevy Impala. My dad bought this in 1988 and it has been in the family ever since. It has a 283 SBC and Powerglide tranny. The race car is now in progress, but hopefully we'll be back on track next summer. '74 Chevy Malibu Classic, built for NHRA Stock Eliminator class already in 1979 and that's what we're also running with it. 350 SBC and it used to have a TH350 tranny, but now we're converting it to run a Jerico 4 speed. Best ET so far 11.968 in J/SA class. And this is the latest addition to the family, bought it about a year ago... 1972 Ford Consul, but it's powered by Ford 302 and a six speed manual. Fun car to drive, and smokes tires easily!

Wow, what a collection! Just the one V8 for me: After being out of use for most of 2022 I got a fresh MoT pass on it just before Christmas, with a bit of welding plus attention to the rear brakes, then I'm going to start using it again from tomorrow- can't wait. Such a smooth thing to cruise around in. It needs some jobs doing, but I'm going to try and work through them and keep it going as long as possible. I paid very little for it, but that was with the promise that it gave me more to spend on keeping it going and that's what I'm now doing. The early ones in particular are pretty rare here now and nice examples are more than I can afford, so I've got work with what I've got. My 1980 Datsun Laurel just keeps working. Should click over 100,000 miles in 2023. I don't own this one, but I do get the occasional drive and I was the one who found it for my daughter and her boyfriend. They bought it for a charity banger rally, driving from the UK down to Dubrovnik. Unlike some they brought it home again and it's now their daily winter transport (with his Mk2 MR2 for fun/summer use). I don't think it's a model that reached North America, it's a UK-built car that sits between the Corolla and Camry and this particular one has the 2-litre MR2/Camry-type engine. It's probably for this reason that it is now up 275,000 miles, and we're hoping to get it to 300k. The little 2004 Yaris (Vitz) in the background is now my son's as his first car, passed-down from his sister. With my 2014 RX450h daily driver and wife's 2010 Auris (AKA Corolla?) the theme is pretty obvious here.....

Hard to do anywhere, but especially where the snow flies. Thanks, you're right it takes quite a bit of work to keep the cars in good condition, especially in the winter when there's snow and road salt and all kinds of stuff on the roads. Well, I don't drive the Impala in the winter because honestly it's a bit too nice car for that... The Ford is not the best winter ride either, so it will get winter driving only on some special occasions and when there is no salt on the roads. But the Rambler is driven every day. I wash it at least once in a week and more often if it's really dirty. Lot of work, but that way, together with other maintenance work, it stays in good condition. And I don't have to drive any modern car, because I really don't want to. 2 hours ago, Spottedlaurel said: Wow, what a collection! My 1980 Datsun Laurel just keeps working. TarheelRick
I saw a blue one on the dealer's website and that was what I was looking for. When I got there, I found out that one was a presale and was already gone. However, they had another one speced the same way, only a different color; I needed a truck, so I took it. 5.0, 10 speed, 4X4 and a healthy rumble when the foot goes down. No trouble getting my boat in and out of the water.
Anglia105E
This is my daily drive . . . 1994 ( grey import ) Mitsubishi Pajero 2.8 TD SWB, auto with overdrive. Newport Metallic Grey - Over 250,000 miles. The speedo and the mileometer no longer work, and haven't worked for several years, so mileage is a guess. Sat Nav tells me my speed on the road. This vehicle is 2 tons in weight, and can easily tow 3 tons, such as my 4-berth sailing yacht and twin-axle trailer ( 300 miles each way to Cornwall ). My Pajero is so strong and reliable, and I would not want to drive any modern car. David
