Kaleb Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 (edited) I heard about this today, while talking about antiques. Its very interesting. http://gantdaily.com...or-4-6-million/ BTW: it still runs Edited October 11, 2011 by Kaleb
Harry P. Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 It depends on your definition of "automobile." The first cars, as we generally define them (self-propelled, internal combustion-powered) date from the 1880s, including Duryea and Benz, but there are examples of much earlier "cars," if you broaden the definition to include steam power. We can go all the way back to the 1700s... http://www.supercars.net/cars/3603.html
Kaleb Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 O yea I know, I just thought it was interesting, Like I put in the sub-title "Or so they say". Its just the oldest one that has been found, or brought to the spot light.

Dr. Cranky Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I like in part because I love old pictures like this. They always make me think of STEAMPUNK!
mr moto Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Don't know if anybody is aware of this site: http://www.genesis2scale.com/wip.htm It looks like there's nothing actually in production right now but they sold some Duryea race cars (winner of the first auto race) on Ebay last year and they looked great. If there's any interest in that type of vehicle maybe a flood of e-mails to the site will get production going again.
