Pro Tech Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 Is that the one with the BBC? I may have a few. Bob Hi Bob, no, this one had a hemi (426 I believe). Thanks, Charlie Pro Tech
Mooneyzs Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I will have to see if i.have any in my photo referece folder at home
Nitrozilla Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Charlie, for what it's worth, I checked my archive. When I discovered I didn't have as many pics of the Camaro as I thought, I did a Google search and was deluged with pics of that car. Far too many to post. You tried that too, right ??
Mooneyzs Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Hey Charlie.... wanted to let you know that I found some pics. I won't have time to post them until maybe later since I need to head out the door for work. not sure if you would like them posted here or emailed to you. Maybe I will just do both. but i was able to find a few pics for you.
Pro Tech Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks guys, Batzilla, yeah there is alot of pics of a Jungle Jim Camaro on line but I'm looking for the time/period pics (blue car) that he had the Briggs Cvevy dealership sponsor on the front fenders (as this is the car I remember seeing many times as a kid at Maryland tracks) If you run across any others not posted here please let me know. Thanks! Wayne, thank you very much, there are a couple pics there I have not run across. This will help me out alot. Thanks again bud! Chris, thanks for checking for me and look forward to seeing what you found. Charlie Pro Tech
1320wayne Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 No problem Charlie. I figured that this is the paint scheme that you were looking for so these are the only ones that I posted. I have so many others of the Camaro such as the red car, the version with the flames on the side and on the hood (two different cars) and the one and only scheme (I believe) that had the Jungle character and Jungle Pam swinging on the vine.
Dragline Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 This is the first Camaro to have the Chrysler I do believe. Iconic to be certain Bob
Mooneyzs Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Hey Charlie... here are a couple pics that I have
Pro Tech Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 Wayne, thanks again, yeap that's the car with Briggs Chevy. Bob, cool tidbit of history, thanks. Chris, thanks for these, even though this is not the exact time period of the car I will try to replicate that interior shot (that I've never seen before) will give me more ammo to refer back to. Thanks again guys I really appreciate it. Charlie Pro Tech
Pro Tech Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 I thought I would post this pic (I just got a scanner) of the actual car I will try to replicate. I took this pic (when I was a kid) in the pits sometime in 70-71 at a Maryland track. Just thought some of you might enjoy it. Charlie Pro Tech
stevez Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 sorry for dumb question, but what kits, after market etc, are available to build a 70 camaro FC??
Evil Appetite Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Competition Resins body with a revell donor
Dr. Cranky Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Those are some wonderful ref. pics. Thank you for sharing them.
stevez Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Competition Resins body with a revell donor Which revell kit would be the donor, does it matter, wonder if one of the new charger FC's would work.
stevez Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 The Hawaiian definitely would for an earlier version of the car, like in Charlie's pic. However, judging from the other pics, it looks like at some point that Jim switched to the digger-style chassis underneath that body. For that, you'd need the chassis like the one in the just-reissued JJ Vega kit. I think Revell REALLY needs to do an all-new kit of this car based on the '69 Charger F/C tooling! Which pic is the earlier version?
Pro Tech Posted November 11, 2011 Author Posted November 11, 2011 stevez, the earlier version is pic in my previous post. I will be using a Polar Lights F/C kit for the frame. Jim did go to a digger frame I'm guessing 72ish. khart, I was hoping someone would release this car, a great piece of history, but I guess I'll have to go the fab route. Charlie Pro Tech

kylexgore Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) You said you needed a detailed picture of Jungle Jim, Right? Edited November 18, 2011 by kylexgore
Pro Tech Posted November 19, 2011 Author Posted November 19, 2011 You said you needed a detailed picture of Jungle Jim, Right? Must be a very early firesuit  , glad they evolved since then. Charlie Pro Tech
kylexgore Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I would imagine that their is plenty fire in that suit just to keep up with Pam.
