Junkman Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I forgot who makes this body. Can anyone out there remember? Cheers, Dr. Alois Alzheimer
57peppershaker Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I'd like to see 1 of these. Gotta be built black n white tho
Rob Hall Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Missing Link Resin offers a '64 Ford Galaxie 4dr sedan body and interior...not sure if the 4dr ht has the same roofline that year or not, could probably be modified into one.

Spot on! Thanks a lot! And yes, all you need to do to make a 4dr hardtop out of a 4dr sedan is whack the posts out and round off the rear window openings a bit: And no, it won't be b&w... Ron Hamilton Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 No, the bodies are not the same between the 1964 Galaxie 500 4-door sedan anf the 4-door Hardtop. F & F Resins used to market the '64 Ford 4-Door hardtop like what is pictured. However, the Missing Link Resin 4-Door sedan is quite a bit more complete as a transkit, and to fget an accurate representation of what you want to accomplish, you would have to re-dhape the side window profile, and re-do the rear window, which is not all that hard.

Looks like it's still being made: http://www.resinreal...axie4drhtp.html And you are right on all accounts. Edited November 8, 2011 by Junkman

Terry Jessee Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I have one of the Missing Link '64s, and they are beautiful. Preliminary parts fit is a drop in. I originally bought it to do a cop car, but that would require careful removal of the Galaxie side trim. Then I found a photo (a Youtube video, actually) of a '64 Galaxie done as a Mayberry police car clone, so that's how I'll use it. Neat castings. Missing Link is one of my favorite casters. Casting quality is very good, and the masters are quite well-done. I have a number of their conversions. Terry

And the Photoetch stuff is Better the Model Car Garage, No runners to cut the emblems and such off , Get one and you will be very happy with it, I have been with everything I have got from them.
george 53 Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I'll third that!! And I don't think shipping to England would would be too hard a problem. Getta hold of Kevin, and see what post would come to. The model itself is MORE than worth it! You WON'T be dissapointed at all!!!!!!
Edsel-Dan Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 I would love to see one converted to a base-line Custom 4dr sedan. And Yes B&W !!! Though a Classmate drove a White over Purple one to school!!! Might have to replicate that one, just wish I had a few pictures, It was a LONG time ago!
Ron Hamilton Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 As of tonight, I have the Missing Link '64 Galaxie 500 4-Door Sedan up on its wheels. I will photograph it in a few days.
