RodneyBad Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) Well during my 2 week gig of house sitting I started a quick project (Quick Project: One build that might be done with in 6 months of starting) Even managed to get it painted. Next came some BMF and wheel selection. Edited November 21, 2011 by RodneyBad
RodneyBad Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) Being that it was Orange and I had some Interesting Decals laying around I got from Hazardous Decals Working on a Grill Guard.. The bolts will be removed when Glued. Just helps hold it together for fitting. Edited November 21, 2011 by RodneyBad
Chuck Most Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Somehow an orange Bluebird doesn't sit well, but it works just fine for me. I've really been wanting to locate one of these- I'm assuming its a 1:24 curbside style kit, right?
RodneyBad Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 Ride height set Deciding wheels tho. DOH wheels or watanabe wheels or??? Yes, It is 1/24 and Curbside MrMost.
Chuck Most Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 The turbines look pretty good on it, but I'd go with the Watanabe wheels just for the kink factor (given the paint/graphics scheme in this case).
bigmikevee Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) DANNO!!!! Wow, I've never seen one of these just hatched, what do you feed it? How old do they have to be before they can start jumping rivers? When do you weld the doors shut? Wow, so many questions!! Thanks for posting. Mike Edited November 21, 2011 by bigmikevee
RodneyBad Posted November 21, 2011 Author Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) DANNO!!!! Mike Nobody likes a Nark BigMike . I had No plans to do a DOH, but Danno was just bagging for another one.. Atleast it is a 1969 Datsun. Starts with a D just like Dodge.. Soo your saying I should cut the windows out too? Okay, I'm easy.. Good Idea MrMost, I think I can just paint them up like the Turbines. Silver with a Black inner rim-ish? Edited November 21, 2011 by RodneyBad
bigmikevee Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Hey Rodney, Thanks for being a good sport, personally I think this is very cool and creative, just a really different build, and I like that!! Now as far as the windows...... Mike
Chuck Most Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Good Idea MrMost, I think I can just paint them up like the Turbines. Silver with a Black inner rim-ish? Sounds like a plan to me! Gotta ask- that wouldn't happen to be a set of Mopar cop wheels on it in the very first pic, would it?
Chuck Most Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Know what's really funny? I did a search for Doyusha Bluebirds, and in the images, most of what I saw on the first page was posted on this thread.
Danno Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Yikes! Doyushas of Hazzard! Bo Lee and Luke Lee and Daisy Lee! It's arr too much, Rodneysan. . [seriously, clever idea and nice build, Rodney. Stay with the tulbine wheers.]
Chuck Most Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Wait- what? A General Lee themed model Dan actually likes? Is that crackling sound I hear glaciers flowing over Hades?
george 53 Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Rodney,my brother, I have long suspected you were a TAD bit more twisted than you let on, but this just finally proves it. I think you been out in them woods too dam long!
Duntov Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Now this is a seriously funny thread ... not to mention the very creative modeling!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
RodneyBad Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) Well, I'm not the first one to build a other DOH Car but I got the Yr right. LOL... Yup MrMost, those are the Revell Copcar wheels And Yes, When I loaded the pics, I titled them Doyusha Bluebird Just incase pics were Surfed. Doyusha Of Hazzards. I love it.. I just knew How much ya loved DOH builds Danno so I just had to do it.. Guess I'm just Insane Crazy or Crazy insane but my Doc says I'm all better now every time I track him down. Just wish he'd quit moving but I guess he likes the Hide and seek games we play? Taillight panel. Edited November 22, 2011 by RodneyBad
Danno Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Basic theme of this build: "May the Bluebird of Hazzardness carp all over your dukes, general-lee speaking." My work here is done.
RodneyBad Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 Basic theme of this build: "May the Bluebird of Hazzardness carp all over your dukes, general-lee speaking." My work here is done. LOL.. O man, your just full of them.. From now on, DOH is my build theme. Guess I better order more decals just for you...
RodneyBad Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 I feel it's time to get this one finished. Building a Grill Guard for it The Bolts won't be staying there but they will hold it together till I get it fixed. maybe make it a bit narrower?
Modlbldr Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Looks like a great little build. Good to see it getting finished. I would think that the grille guard would look better narrowed about an 1/8 inch. Later-
RodneyBad Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 Some work on the Interior Added some PE gauges and might just add a CB and RollBar..
