SuperStockAndy Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) If you don't have one of these, I advise you pick one up ASAP. I was going through Dollar General today and came across some, figured I'd get one since they're not overly expensive at $1.25. It's got a normal Sharpie tip on it, making it perfect for doing bolts, lug nuts, etc. Definitely worth the money. Edited December 3, 2011 by Andy C.
highway Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Don't forget, it's the perfect replacement for chrome too!!

scubadiver411 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I have been using a Silver Sharpie for a few yrs now... use it to do my header's, and other engine details, chrome trim on the interior, etc... I like using them for a lot of different things...
sweptline64 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 well I never thought of using one of thoose now I got to run out and get one. The fine line drafters pens work great for putting the black in on trim and anywhere else you need a fine black line also.
Evil Appetite Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I still use my Sharpies, but I`ve found these and use them most of the time now. They`re fantastic. They come in Extra Fine and Super Fine, Gold, Silver and White. As I said still use the Sharpies, usually for large pieces..but when it comes to finer detail, these pens cant be beat..
VW Dave Posted December 14, 2011 Posted December 14, 2011 Cool score on thos fine-tip pens, Mike! I've been saying for a long time now that we need silver Sharpies in their 'ultra fine' tip, and those oughta do the trick.

I've been using these for a couple years now. The silver is much better than the sharpie and I find it works well for interior and dash detail. The silver sharpie is good for exhaust and things of that nature.
Greg Wann Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Look for'em in white ink at Michaels too.
Dave Van Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Been using the Sharpie for years now....also check out the high dollar silver and gold pens at any art supply.....they also have a white ultra fine that does chalk marks on racing tires very well.

Isn't the whole point of a dollar store that everything costs a dollar???
SuperStockAndy Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Yeah, but it was still pretty cheap.
Harry P. Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Somebody needs to tell the manager of that dollar store what a dollar store is...
VW Dave Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Isn't the whole point of a dollar store that everything costs a dollar??? Dollar General isn't a true 'everything is a dollar' store....their name simply implies that they help make your dollar(s) go farther.
SuperStockAndy Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 Dollar General isn't a true 'everything is a dollar' store....their name simply implies that they help make your dollar(s) go farther. Yeah, they had these storage drawer things that I wanted, they were $5.50..I decided to pass on the deal
afxmustang Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Sharpie has paint markers as well. They are a bit harder to find than the regular ones.
Harry P. Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Dollar General isn't a true 'everything is a dollar' store....their name simply implies that they help make your dollar(s) go farther. Oh, ok. The "dollar store" here by me (Dollar Tree) actually is a dollar store. Everything's a buck (or less).
VW Dave Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Yup, and we have Dollar Tree stores here too. That's where I get my super glue, emery boards and weathering pastel applicators.
Harry P. Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Walmart has superglue in packs of 4 tubes for 97ยข in the hardware/home improvement section. Best deal I've found anywhere. It even beats Dollar Tree (3 tubes for a buck). Stock up!
VW Dave Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Thanks for the tip, Harry; I'll have to look closer the next time I'm in that aisle....I get my 5-minute epoxy there already.
rmvw guy Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 More good stuff here! I have had trouble getting the fine tip pen to flow, the large tip works good but, mine are "Prismacolor" from Hobby Lobby. Looks like I will be taking a trip to Dollar Tree. Also sanding sticks, super glue, epoxy, oh ya!
priest3131 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 I have also used these for a while now,I usually buy them at Hobby Lobby.
sjordan2 Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) Prismacolor also has an excellent fine-point silver - very bright metallic. Got mine at Hobby Lobby. Edited November 27, 2012 by sjordan2

Also sanding sticks, super glue, epoxy, oh ya! Interesting. My fine-point Prismacolor flows just right and is brighter metallic than most of the other brands. I haven't had to dip the point in thinner, but that might help for a balky flow. Edited November 27, 2012 by sjordan2
