outlaw035 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) looking for a shiny limo???...NOT....rescued this from ebay and yes it was shiny...opened all the vents...slipped a viper engine in...and rat rodded the rest of the car... the undercarriage the engine... the interior... outlaw035 Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) the gas filler...jet fuel only with a rag for a cap front view... side view... Edited December 23, 2011 by outlaw035
Harry P. Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Seems to me that a Viper engine would be a very odd choice for a rat rod. I thought rat rods were all about building on the cheap and making do with whatever you can scrounge up. But then again it's your model, so anything goes.
outlaw035 Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 (edited) harry ur correct....but its not ur normal ratrod its a benz...thought it needed more then a flat head.... Edited December 18, 2011 by outlaw035
tooltas Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 i like it but u could of made a wild hemi v10 blower with 12packs of 92 holleys
Wagoneer81 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Definitely different... most definitely sick! I like it!
LAone Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) very different. i like it. just hope no one lights up that rag in the gas tank... Edited December 19, 2011 by LAone
crazyjim Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 You're a sick puppy, Neal - doing that to a Mercedes. But I actually like the thought you put into it. The door handles, gas cap, screens, horn, and I love the shift knob. Weathering is superb.

If you can make a rat rod out of a multimillon-dollar car with a human brain between the seats, a Viper engine is the least of the logical disconnects in this fun build.

John Teresi Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Neal......pretty cool!!!!!!........AWESOME man.
CEKPETHO BCE Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I can appreciate the work that went into this model, but I will never understand why would anyone ever rat rod anything on purpose.
surfjunke Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 That is one wild Mercedes. Like the weathered finish. Bet that fly's with the V-ten!
george 53 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I thought a roadster didn't have a roof. Mercedes rat rod is a unique ride, that's for sure!
outlaw035 Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 duh...george ur right it was an ebay rescue and i just wrote what they did...
sjordan2 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) I thought a roadster didn't have a roof. Mercedes rat rod is a unique ride, that's for sure! The car was based on the 500K roadster, but enclosed cars with hardtops are, or were, referred to over there as limousines. So it was labeled as a roadster limousine on the kit box. Only 4 of this body style were built. Edited January 3, 2012 by sjordan2
