Diesel Gypsy Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I've just put the finishing touches to this model. It may be difficult to see but I've added some subtle pastel weathering to the lower portion of the body in an attempt to blend the weathered wheels into the body. I hope you like my Plymouth as much as I do. Thank you for your time.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Love it! And I think the mild weathered touches are perfect. Nice model, and congrats. Can't wait to see what you cook up next!
Greg Pugh Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) Nice looking model! It looks like an everyday driver right out of Main Street, USA 1944. I like the road grime. Very convincing. Edited January 6, 2012 by gpugh1976
jjsipes Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Awesome I have this kit to build just don't know what to do with it right now. Yours looks great. Thanks for sharing
promo55 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Nice model. The subtile weathering is just right. I love the color! Excellent build!
Draggon Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Nice job, the weaterhing on the body works great with the wheels!
W-409 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 That's very cool Plymouth. It looks very good overall, and these are rarely seen built. That's sad. Your build looks great anyway, and even if I'm not great fan of weathering models, that weathering looks very good and gives much realistic look to it. Factory Stock models are always great to see.
Chuck Doan Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Very nice! My first car was a '50 Dodge with wide whitewalls-I don't know what they were thinkin-I had to constantly scrub those things to keep em clean.
pepperdrumstix Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I like it. Looks like one that was parked down the street from my house when I was a kid. Sat next to a '53 Hudson Hornet and an old Dodge salesman car. Nice job Dave. Looks real. Patrick
crazyjim Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Whoa, Dave. Very nice build. You achieved SHINY :) but got in some wetahering. Super job.
rmvw guy Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Nice! I always liked the 41 coupe. My first car when I got back from the U.S. Army was a 40 Plymouth sedan I bought for $300. Great car to drive till someone talked me out of it. I really like yours, it has the right amount of road rash, looks just right.
Kustom Rodder Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Nice build this is a car that you dont see very often.
Sixties Sam Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Great build! I like the color and the slight weathering. Looks like a car you would actually see parked downtown in the 1940's. Good work! Sam
Diesel Gypsy Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 WOW ! Thanks guys, I'm completely overwhelmed by your responses. I have a `58 Impala to finish then I think I'll dip back into the stash for something old & rounded to build again. Regards to you & your's.
raisin27 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Very nice, a really great build of a kit you rarely see built.
Harry P. Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Well, it's all already been said, but I have to throw in my 2ยข. Very nicely done!
