ranma Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 This time you can finish and old model you had already had started. Dr.Cranky will let us know what else will be allowed on this one. I my self have decided to build a semi truck.
ranma Posted January 21, 2012 Author Posted January 21, 2012 Which truck should I build? a Paystar 5000 or the a Paystar 5000 dump truck? Humm I wonder?
Dr. Cranky Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Thanks, Rick, for getting us back into another one Another 3-DAY BUILD, and this time you can build either something new or a project that's been sitting on your bench neglected. There are no rules for this, but you can follow the same guidelines: Saturday = cleaning up and primering the parts Sunday = Painting Monday = Assembling and detailing. Working through the night is allowed. Post all your progress pictures here to this thread. Start thinking about what you will do, and you will have plenty of ideas by the time the 3-DAY WEEKEND arrives.
Agent G Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Doctor I think I will participate in this one. I work Saturdays until 4:30pm so I might need a bit of leeway if possible. G
01blueedge Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I am in on this one just not sure what i will build this time
Dr. Cranky Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Cool. Again, no rules, just stress-free building. Well, other than the time constraint!
Peter Lombardo Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) Here is a little twist that may, or may not, be appropriate for this build……being that it is Presidents Day weekend that this build is being proposed to be done over, what if the build had to be a vehicle with the same Name as a President? You know, Lincoln…..Ford………Cadillac (well, they still ride in them)......Chevy El Camino (Bill Clinton famously had one before his time in the White House….it had Astro Turf in the bed out back, just in case of an emergency pit stop with a cocktail waitress). I know it limits the build subject a bit, but it certainly is relevant, isn't it? Edited January 22, 2012 by Peter Lombardo
Dr. Cranky Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Peter, I love the idea. That's very cool. Yes, I think that would be mighty fine!
Dr. Cranky Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Plus, I wonder how many of you remember (and miss them!) the days of having 2 Back-To-Back 3-Day Weekends when we celebrated Washington's and Lincoln's birthdays. Of course, Congress put an end to that!
Tony T Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 You guys sure get a lot of long weekends in the winter! I could use a couple of those about now!!
Rob McKee Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I'll join into this one. It will likely mean I have 2 kits finished by the end of this one. I am proud to look at my completed Trans Am from last weekend.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 As you should be, Rob. You will be a couple of more models richer!
hotrod59f100 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I'll be joining again. I had fun last time.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Cool, hopefully everyone will have fun and build another model.
martinfan5 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I will join in this one as well, I have a little bit of time to come up with something
ranma Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 Febuary is just days away and that 3 day build will be here before you know it! I hope we have more builders on this one.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Rick, you are right about that. What happened to January, where did it go?
hotrod59f100 Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Well Doc if rember correctly you took at least 3 of our days.lol can't wait. Do we have to keep the presidential theme?
ranma Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 Well Doc if rember correctly you took at least 3 of our days.lol can't wait. Do we have to keep the presidential theme? I beleive thats up to you. I myself will be building a paystar 5000 truck. the presidential build limits you to Ford/lincoln .caddy limos or the pt 109 and presidential planes.
ranma Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 The 3 day weekend is coming up ! How many modelers are up to the challange, and what are you going to build?
Dr. Cranky Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Rick, I am still looking. And like the U2 song says; I still haven't found what I'm looking for.
Bartster Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) Not necessarily only Ford/Lincoln. If I can post pics by then I will finish my '48 Woodie & dedicate it to Woodrow Wilson! Dang it!! That's still a Ford!......Just got a big shipment back from Chrome-Tech today. 1/24 Harley anyone? Edited February 10, 2012 by Bartster
