Hobby shops in Tampa,FL

I will be in Tampa, FL for week of IBM training. Are there any good hobby shops to visit?

There's Rob's Hobby World in Ocala but that's 100 or so miles north. I keep hearing about a hobby shop down Pinellas Park way - maybe Phil's??? HAven't been there - yet. Maybe Jantrix will know since he lives down that way.

There is a HobbyTown on Dale Mabry in Tampa

Other than that, you'll want to travel to Pinellas county.

That's all that I know of in the area. There are a couple train stores, but not a lot else.

Interesting place... Not nearly as interesting as the original House of Hobbies that used to be an Alt.19 that the same guy owned.

I'm not sure about any hobby shops in St. Pete, but there is Ralph's Hobbies or Phil's Hobbies in Pinellas Park.

Ralph's carries a good selection of models. He buys collections so his inventory is ever changing. He is a great guy to deal with and only sells models and amateur radio equipment.

Phil's carries mostly newer stuff. He does sell R/C, models, some slot car stuff.
