VisVos Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Revell kit painted Inferno red metallic no real issues to speak off
Steve Keck Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Matt, send it to me and I'll autograph it!
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Wow. I always thought that was a fictional car. Who'd have thought it was real and the driver was right here on this forum! Way cool! Shake and Bake! Got any pictures of the real thing Steve?
62rebel Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 beautiful build of an excellent kit. mine isn't decaled yet; the first kit in a very long time i've built OOB and as the boxart intends.

Scale-Master Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Unfortunately, I wrecked it before we thought to take any pictures. I saw pictures of it in an old drag racing magazine. (Drag Racer maybe? Lots of B&W pics. Had Thumper II in it also, on one of the two color pages.) It’s how I was able to replicate the decal graphics when I drew it for this Revell kit. I didn’t have any pictures showing a license plate though. The plate used on this build is from another buddy of mines’ original unrestored California 1968 H.O. street car. Sent all the reference material back to R/M when I finished the job, so I can’t post them. I heard it was involved in a track “incident” but I didn’t know it was totaled.
VisVos Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 wait wait so not only the driver is here but also the guy that made the decals for it ? WOW steve ill make one for you to sign if you want with correct color and decals as i used decals for both versions on it this is totally awesome
Steve Keck Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Build away, Matt! BTW why not get the decal artist's autograph as well.
Scale-Master Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Well, I won't make you send it to me to autograph, I can send you a decal of my signature...
Steve Keck Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Matt, just a word of caution: the models I've autographed for friends have only shrunk in value LOL!
VisVos Posted February 13, 2012 Author Posted February 13, 2012 lol dont care since i never sell my stuff
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Wow, what a forum of stars. And yes nice job on the model
Rob Hall Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Sharp Firebird..like the color and wheels.
Evil Appetite Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Matt, send it to me and I'll autograph it! Man I've built so many of those cars, in different variations... I too thought it was a phantom. I searched the net and old mags but couldnt find it!
Art Laski Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Unfortunately, I wrecked it before we thought to take any pictures. I swore I saw it about a month ago... Nice job, Matt!
Rob McKee Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Great build Matt. The paint looks great. I have had that kit kicking around here for years. I guess it's time to get her out and built to honor our very own Steve Keck! How did she get wrecked Steve?
Scale-Master Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I swore I saw it about a month ago... How badly was wrecked it Steve? Is it possible Art saw it repaired or restored? Or maybe it was a clone?
Steve Keck Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Art could have seen a clone. I don't know. I totaled it. I remember nothing. My freinds tell me it was memorable. They still remind me of it over a few adult beverages. Every time it's news to me!
Guest Dr. Odyssey Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Shaked & Baked it aye? No adult beverages just before it died I hope...
