What was the cause of death? I hadn't heard of him being sick or anything. I, too, grew up watching The Monkees. I don't know how many cavities I got chewing gum to collect all their cards. Anyway, it is sad, indeed.

I was just old enough to sneer slightly at the TV show but some of the songs were great and have stood the test of time.

They were just on Retro TV. Mickey had to drive the Monkeemobile against a Cobra Daytona Coupe, caz the "Good guys" Manta Ray had been saboutaged by the "Bad guys". It was fun to see them ACTUALLY moveing on their own again. Every time I've seen ANY of those cars they were on static display only! Rest In Peace, Davey.

I used to watch The Monkees re-runs when I was a little kid. It's always sad when we lose someone talented and who brought joy to peoples' lives.

The music will live on, as will the memories.

Very sad indeed! RIP Davy. A real sad thing is now when the Monkee's get together there will only be two as Mike Nesmith won't

perform with them in public anymore.

Well, we're all getting old it seems. Death is part of the picture. It is sad when somebody goes quick, but at least Davy touched so many lives for good over the years and didn't seem to do what so many other "celebrities" do these days to get famous.

Sad to hear, becoming common as of late it seems. I, too watched the show and listened to the music growing up in the 60's.

A bit of trivia that some may not know: David Bowie's real last name is Jones but he changed it to Bowie when he started performing so as not to be confused with The Davy Jones!
