Plasticfanatic Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Today I was cleaning my workshop "closet" and found a model that I believed to be looong gonne, I was pretty sure I did trow it away or give it to a good friend a long time ago...but here it is the Starsky Grand Torino. I made this conversion a very long time ago..it was based...I think...in the Revell green AAR Cuda, made the interiors and had a Torino chassis for this project...with I dont know where it went since It was not in the broken box with the model. I was never to happy with the end result and just gave it a quick paint with some quick bare metal foil application which is now falling apart to see how it will look, put it in a box and forgot about it. The model has suffer tru the years, theres paint overspray in the trunk area, dont know of what and a blue line on the roof that appear to be a decal and the back bumper is missing or long lost!! As you can see the interior was (is) quite dusty. Anyway I just gave it a quick look and belive will try to restore/finish this model, after all is one of my all time favorites TV cars!!!! Hutch Ford Galaxie is a conversion from the 1970 Police Interceptor model kit...not finish.
Plasticfanatic Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 Hutch Ford Galaxie....I always liked the 1973/78 Galaxie/LTD body style and even more in the "comercial/police trim".
Custom Mike Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 The Torino doesn't look half bad in the pics Fred, are you going to strip her and repaint?
Bonekrosha Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Love 'em. I love plain brown wrapper police cars , I even bought one of my old patrol cars after I'd gotten my new one issued. I did a Monaco copy of my Dad's 77 unmarked from when he was a Deputy some time ago.
kruleworld Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 you didn't show us the front, but everything else looks pretty spot on. should be good when redone. also that galaxy looks the biz
bbowser Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 2 great models. Looking forward to their progress.
1zebra3 Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 So this S&H started as a cuda? WOW great work but it just might be the camera angles but the rear quarters look a little large. How about a veiw of the front grill.

How about a veiw of the front grill. You are correct and also I am not to happy with the roof profile. I will post pictures of the front area of the car in a couple of days when I get my day off at work. Thanks to all for the kind words about this failed project of mine, still thinking if is worth the trouble of a restoration.
Dr. Cranky Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Me too, I am looking forward to seeing how they turn out. Keep 'em going.
