kruleworld Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Finished the first in this episode, May's Cadillac. This was rebuilt from a revell cadillac off my shelf that i'd built a few years ago. i stripped it down and repainted it dark blue with a semi-gloss vinyl roof. i polished it before reassembly and added the handpainted graffiti and printed some number plates to finish it off.
kruleworld Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 it's not a good idea to drive through alabama with Liberal messages on your car. i don't know how i'm going to do Hammond's dodge pickup, since no 91 dodge ram has ever been released in plastic or diecast. nearest i can find so far is the old 70s little red dodge pickup.
martinfan5 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 That was a great Episode other then all the American bashing that went on, good job on the caddy
Boreham Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 (edited) That was a great Episode other then all the American bashing that went on, good job on the caddy what ?>? freedom of expression Edited April 3, 2012 by Boreham
Maindrian Pace Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Really stupid episode, one of my least favorites. the T.G. crowd is lucky they didn't get a beat-down. Freedom of expression? Sure, just watch what you say. -MJS
hotrod59f100 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Yeah I agree with mike. I love top gear but hate how they slander the USA.
Scuderia Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I thoroughly enjoyed the episode. and ones with Stigs American Cousin (Stig in fat suit) i can laugh at myself i guess and don't get sore about their antics.
Kaleb Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Freedom of expression, so if someone insults my family my county or my self, I have a right to beat them down? It's freedom of expression right? Lol Btw like the caddy but they could have picked someone better than Hillary. We already know that she was president.
Chuck Most Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Please tell me you replicated the damage caused by Hamster and Clarkson's sabotage of the AC system.
sports850 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Well at least the TG crew were closer to the truth than the Simpson's were when they portrayed Australia but we don't care , we can laugh at ourselves Nice build Walter , but I want to know if , when you build the rest of the cars from that episode , you are going to make the Comaro with , or without the cow on the roof ?
kruleworld Posted April 7, 2012 Author Posted April 7, 2012 Well at least the TG crew were closer to the truth than the Simpson's were when they portrayed Australia but we don't care , we can laugh at ourselves Nice build Walter , but I want to know if , when you build the rest of the cars from that episode , you are going to make the Comaro with , or without the cow on the roof ? no cow! (or should i say 'don't have a cow, man')
Zarana-X Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 I thought this episode was hilarious, one of my favorites. I know what it's like to be targeted because somone doesn't like the way you look, your car, or agree with you. It says more about them, than you. Also, about 2/3 of the stuff about America is true. Personally, "If it don't apply, let it fly."-Flavor Flav.
Jairus Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 I agree, one of my favorites! While the expressions of the hosts were not complimentary... the portrayal was correct for those they met up with. Heck, they are not complimentary about the "colonies" on ANY episode and trash American cars whenever they can. But the truth is that Tom Cruise set the bar very high when he visited the track and they do respect our automotive industry if not all the products produced. Nice caddy Walter! Promo?
1272148 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 I have watched alot of episodes of top gear and it seems they enjoy bashing Americans, our cars, and our culture.
Wagoneer81 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Good job on the Caddy! Plus, one simple observation: Ever notice that the people who hate, gripe about, flame and slam the USA the most are the FIRST ONES to cry out for the guarantee and protection of 'Free Speech' provided by the document supporting the system that they swear to despise? Really? They hate this country but they shelter under the Constitutional Protection that it offers? The irony here is so thick, I doubt one of the above mentioned swamp buggys could power through it... Just my Biting Social Commentary for the day, we now return you to your regularly scheduled madness. God Bless AMERICA!
Jon Cole Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Good job on the Caddy! The irony here is so thick, I doubt one of the above mentioned swamp buggys could power through it... Just my Biting Social Commentary for the day, we now return you to your regularly scheduled madness. God Bless AMERICA! It's a British TV production, with British hosts, that filmed an episode here in the states, primarily for BBC audience (tho also shown here). So what does US Constitutional Protection have to do with it?
epi4561 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I love that episode... I just watched it again this evening. I absolutely love the caddy almost perfect reconstruction except for the newspaper repair done on a Wednesday. Can't wait to see the pickup or the murderers Camaro. LOL..... They don't hate Americans, They don't even single us out. Or we aren't the only ones singled out.. It's entertainment. And as a slightly overweight, ginger, American who likes cheeseburgers, I find them terribly entertaining..... I love how they always crash into James' car. thanks-epi
jaymcminn Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 A very incomplete list of groups which the Top Gear presenters (mainly Jeremy) have singled out for ridicule over the years: Australians, Germans, the French, Russians, Albanians, Italians, Greeks, Americans, Mexicans, Koreans, Yorkshiremen, the Swiss, the Scots, the Welsh, the Irish, people from Essex, fat people, short people, old people, women, BMW drivers, Audi drivers, Vauxhall drivers, Prius drivers, caravan owners, footballers... and above all, themselves. Great job on May's Caddy- now get to work on Jezza's Camaro! (and I vote for cow!)
geetee66 Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 LOL! Highly original and very funny. A car with a story. I like it. By the way...the USA got off lightly compared to their (TG's) opinions of Albania! It's only a TV show...please don't forget that. My Dad hates Clarkson. His solution...? Change the channel.
